The breakfast was really good there and all meals in general.
We had many issues with loudness, they asked us if we wanted to upgrade but some how we were in the basement. Everytime you would go from the elevator to our room it was a sewage smell. The couch in the room was in disrepair and we were chastised for removing the bedding and folding it back up and making it a couch. The general city in the area is pretty disappointing and run down. We picked the location to be with in walking distance of alot of major attractions.

We booked the double plus 1 which was perfect for us. My son slept in a single bed next to our double/queen bed and it was perfect. All beds were super comfortable and the room itself was plenty large to open suitcases and hang up all our clothes and such. The bathroom was excellent with plenty of counter space for all our things even though we were three. Overall we were extremely happy with the hotel and we would recommend it to anyone. We will also be staying there again next time we go to Dublin. The access to public transport was nice too.

Maldron was a nice hotel. I just expected much more considering we were paying close to $500 CAD per night. I would not recommend room 101 though. It was in a corner by itself, away from other rooms and it was next to the housekeeping store room. Every morning at 8 am there is a lot of noise from staff bringing their carts out, moving trash etc. forget about sleeping in. Pictures attached. The hotel was about a 15 minute walk from the river.

The immediate neighborhood was a bit run down, though we did not run into any issues walking it in daylight. The parking was either street (Expensive and looked risky) or a garage 6 blocks away, expensive, but locked with ticket access. I should specify that I found parking expensive in Dublin overall, so it was probably average for the city/region. They could definitely use a loading zone!

I recently stayed one night at this hotel and had a very pleasant experience. While the hotel itself is fairly standard in terms of amenities, it was clean, comfortable, and exactly what I expected.
The real highlights were the restaurant and the staff. The on-site restaurant exceeded my expectations, offering delicious food with great presentation. It was such a nice surprise to enjoy a meal that felt more like fine dining than typical hotel fare.
Overall, this was a solid choice for a convenient and enjoyable overnight visit. I’d gladly stay here again, especially for the great location, excellent dining, and wonderful service.

We found the Maldron when we had a last minute change of plans, and the price was attractive. Clean, stylish decor. The pieces may need a refresh soon from normal wear, but it did look nice and was clean. Nice location, one block off of O’Connell Upper. For reference, it was a 10 minute walk to the Spire. Streets were wide in that area and clean. It was a 7-8 minute walk to the Dominic Bus Stop through a series of clean alley streets. The breakfast was nice with a lot of options from traditional to grab-n-go.

Hotel is, unfortunately, located in a very bad part of the city and we did not feel safe walking around the area. There is a clinic for drug addicts directly across the street from the hotel (Granby Centre) and a Salvation Army homeless shelter around the corner. There are many people in very bad shape on the streets around the hotel - drunk, passed out, acting crazy, etc. One night coming back from dinner two men with ski-masks covering their faces crossed the street towards us but luckily a taxi was passing and we waved and got him to stop and take us just 400 m to the hotel entrance.
The area of Dublin south of the river is much nicer. We wish we had stayed there.

Proximity to city center, kind staff, easy checkout
It's on a sketchy street, the AC didn't work properly, they never emptied our trash, and the fire alarm went off at 5:00 AM one morning and they never explained to us what happened.

I liked that it was distant enough from the Temple Bar area that it wasn't crowed and loud, but also that we could easily walk to the tourist attractions and restaurants. Breakfast had a large selection and everyone was satisfied.

I had no complaints for what I used this hotel for. It was within a short walk to food and a little convivence store that I could grab some fruit, pastries, and water.
The food service seemed a bit over priced for what you received.

Convenient and location is about 12 mins walk to Capel St
On 27 January 2026, the hotel lost electricity and water due to storm-related flooding. While this was outside the hotel’s control, there was no communication or guidance provided to guests that morning.
I had to leave for work without a shower, use drinking water to freshen up, and rely on my mobile phone for light. No assistance or updates were offered.
By the time I returned later that day, services had been restored and operations continued as normal, but there was no acknowledgment or follow-up regarding the disruption.
