I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was clean, quiet, and warm – perfect for relaxing after a day out. Everything was cleaned daily, which I really appreciated. The staff were very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist. In the evening, it was nice to enjoy a beer in the cozy bar with a great atmosphere. The location was ideal – everything was within walking distance. After check-out, I was able to leave my luggage at the hotel, which was very convenient. Highly recommended!

There was a pipe in my room (207) that made a constant flushing sound. I told the staff but nothing was done. This disturbed my sleep. Only about one-third of the channels on the television worked. The room was quite cramped. For example, one of the wardrobe doors could not open as there not enough space for that.

Many of the outlets in the room did not work or only worked intermittently. There were lights that we could not find the switches for. Small dining room with very limited space - would not recommend this hotel for groups.

The location.
I was in a room with a fullsize bed with my wife. The room was very cramped for two people, the bathtube was high and narrow so getting in and out of it to shower was a bit of a challenge. Our bathroom sink and a two separate faucets 1 hot 1 cold. All of the staff was great besides one gentleman who was very lazy and would not serve us drinks from the bar. The sign on the wall clearly states the hours for the bar on weekdays 11pm and weekends 12pm. We asked for drinks at 10:45pm on a Saturday and he said no. A group of guys came in at 11pm (whom were staying there obviously) and he told them no also. The previous days we didn't have any staff tell us no for drinks. The funny thing is that he just sat at the front desk and looked at his phone. I wanted to call him out but I was with my grandmother so I just left it alone.

The location was pretty good, a 20min walk to the city center. It was close to many bus lines as well.
The floors were uneven and lumpy which gave me motion sickness when I walked from one end of the room to the other. The electricity went out in our room the last night we were there and wasn't fixed by the time we checked out the next day. The beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows were very flat. The elevator didn't go to our floor, the 3rd floor, so we had to walk up and down the stairs with our stroller each day and night. I would not stay here again, nor recommend it to others.

Great old house converted to hotel. Wonderful location - lots of history, good restaurants, pubs, shops. Convenient to Luas tram and busses. Friendly, helpful staff. We had a front-facing room which was surprisingly quiet at night (little street noise).
There is a lift, but it doesn't go to every floor. A minor inconvenience when lugging baggage. Breakfast was unremarkable. If it's not included in your booking, we recommend trying one of the breakfast restaurants in the neighborhood.

Absolutely abominable place to stay. This place is either a scam or incompetent about the hotel business. First, it was not allowing me to check out early, then it listed it had a/c and free breakfast (it didn't), their tv only shows game shows from the 80s. The fan the provided was dirty and did not blow any air whatsoever and it's on a timer. The wardrobe couldn't open all the way because of the nightstand and thus had a noticeable hole in. The outlet was behind the bedf frame which made it in accessible. There was no one at the desk in the morning and I believe a person from the kitchen staff had to check me out (which contained taking my key and telling me I was all good). This place was a horrid experience, if I didn't know any better I would think I caught something from either the amenities or the disgusting fan blowing in my face.

I decided to splurge on a hotel when in Dublin for a night recently. Hotel St George had a single room available and, though it was very expensive ($323.56), it seemed worth it. It was not!
Upon check-in I was told that I had been given a room on the ground floor at the back of the building so the room should be pleasantly quiet. It was, at first.
My first view of the room included the sight of feces and toilet paper in the toilet. That caused me to wonder if the rest of the room had been similarly cleaned and prepared. When I expressed that concern to the receptionist she told me, with no recognition of the irony of her statement, that the rooms were cleaned every day.
The insufficient soundproofing was another problem. Effective soundproofing would not have helped with the alarm going off in the middle of the night, but it would have mitigated the sound of the person walking in the room above me until late at night, and resuming before 0600 the next morning. The television in that room was also audible. In addition, my "quiet" room was very close to what appeared to be a storage shed and path, both used by staff early in the morning.
The room was small and lackluster. It had clearly been inadequately cleaned, failing to meet even the most basic hygiene standards of hotels. The soundproofing was absolutely inadequate. Finally, the manager was non-responsive, declining to respond to my request for a discussion.
This room was absolutely not worth the money I paid for it, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

A nice buffet breakfast was available for €12. In the evenings, the breakfast room became a small pub just for guests. The receptionist was amazingly helpful and caring. Someone from the hotel responds quickly to email questions. An elevator/lift was available to access the rooms, an amenity that is not always available in historic buildings. The hotel is a short walk from pubs, far enough away to insure a quiet night’s sleep. The area seems to be safe, and the hotel is secure. The bus from the airport stops near the front door of the hotel, and the Do Dublin hop-on-hop-off bus stops just around the corner. Tickets are available for purchase at the St. George.
Spaces are a bit tight, which is to be expected in buildings of this vintage.

The staff at Hotel St George were very friendly and helpful. We arrived early and they were able to check us in.
The rooms were a little small and no air conditioner but the weather was nice and we opened a window, turned the fan on and it felt good.

24 hours staff in the entrance.
1. The rooms were incredibly noisy, I could hear the neighbors talking very clearly, the shower and bathroom running and the the tvs going. 2. Bed was supper small and uncomfortable 3. The curtains were not blackout. 4. There was no water, because the water tank was empty and they needed to wait a couple of hours to refill it. 5. Incredibly expensive for what it is.

We only stayed one night but our experience was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our family room was really big, and this hotel was the only one in our two weeks stay that didn't have awful pillow.
It was difficult to get our suitcases down the stairs, but the front desk staff helped us get our bags down.

Well located on a main street with many restaurants, coffee shops and a Subway sandwich shop within walking distance. Short walking distance to many good Asian restaurants. Easy Bolt pickups and dropoffs. Comfortable room with tea kettle to make own tea/coffee in room. Very helpful front reception staff who facilitated an early check-in and allowed us to have coffee in the hotel's dining room while we waited for room availability. Luggage storage available if arrive early. 24-hour helpful and friendly staff at reception desk. Nice historic dining room with a variety of breakfast items...not too elaborate, but quite nice. Filtered water cooler available in hall corridor. Welcoming atmosphere.
The only negative was the loud phone conversations in the room next to ours that you could hear through one of the walls. However, this is a reflection of those guests and not the hotel and had a minimal impact. I would still make future bookings at the Hotel St George despite this issue, based on all its positives.

The hotel is in a great location. It’s close to transit ( I took Air Coach from and to the airport and the stop is almost across the street from the hotel!), shopping, and restaurants. The staff was very competent, helpful and friendly. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Even though my room faced the street, it was very quiet! There are plenty of outlets for your devices; don’t forget to insert your room key into the slot near the door to enable electricity to your room! Breakfast was wonderful. A great selection of breakfast food: eggs, breakfast meats, fruits, yogurt, juices, breads, coffee etc.
Everything was to my satisfaction.

The service was outstanding and the location was great. The breakfast is worth the extra cost and the the little bar they have is fantastic.
It was a little tight for 4 of us with luggage and the two double beds, but it was great overall. Also, there really isn't parking, but they accommodated us well.

The staff was great; the room was comfortable; parking at the Clifden was easy and convenient.
You could hear people in adjacent rooms, as well as in the rooms above and below. It made it difficult to sleep given that some people are inconsiderate and speak loudly.

Location was amazing - less than 10 minute walk to River Liffey, and we were very comfortable in the area. It was a quick taxi from the airport. We also loved that we were able to keep our luggage there before our room was available for check-in so we could roam around freely without our bags!
The room was also incredibly spacious!!

The room was small and dated. Caulking needing to be replaced. Dirty windows. Sink had two spigots so you either had cold water or hot water and the only way to wash with moderate temperatures was to fill the sink. Toilet was continually running. Alarm outside was going off 24/7 for 3 days and staff unable to do anything about it.

We thought it was a lovely hotel - the location was ideal, the staff were really helpful and very friendly. The bed was super comfy and the shower was hot. We will definitely stay there again the next time we visit Dublin. Thanks to Helen and all the staff for making it an enjoyable experience!

The Reception staff were extremely accomodation, friendly and great to talk to. The Hotel location is at a good spot with common bus routes.
Room sizes were inaccurate to the listings, the 3rd room I was given was fairly better in comparison. This room however had issues with the sink and it kept having water stuck in it throughout the stay. Room service also didn't really change the sheets throughout the 4 day stay.

Great location. Water refill station was nice. It did have character, and seemed clean.
It is such an old building there were lots of oddities. Sloping floors, weird smells, etc. TV was broken, they said they would fix while we were out, but they didn’t. Shower head and pillows were terrible.

Our room smelled like cigarette smoke AND air freshener (there was an awful "plug in" air freshener in room to cover up the smell. Room seemed clean, but was shabby. The pictures were so much better! I felt is was a 2.5-3 star place.

The location was excellent for walking around Dublin. The room fit our family of 4 perfectly and the shower was excellent-plenty of water pressure and hot water. The room was well appointed with coffee/tea service and a hair dryer. The linens were clean and fresh smelling as well. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast. They allowed us to drop our luggage off when we arrived at 11:30 am which was very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Very clean. Appreciate the full length mirror and the lighted bathroom vanity mirror. Also, very few hotels will give a choice of two kinds of pillows (form and soft) so that was very nice to have. Towels are plush and absorbent, and the shower had a good spray. Breakfast room is nice (basic breakfast was €14 per person when we were there).
There’s noise from people in the hallway coming in to the room partly from the bottom of the door which is not sealed off.

Location, location, location! This hotel was near where all the busses stop (including the one we took from the Airport) and also close enough to central Dublin and the river to do a walking tour. We were only there one night but we were able to see and do a lot.
