The ferry service runs from just across the road from the hotel. The room was average size with a big bed which was comfortable and comfortable pillows. Good air conditioning unit. Bathroom was cosy. Breakfast was traditional Italian buffet. Usual food that was good.
The bedroom was not very clean, when we walked on the floor with bear feet and then had a shower, the shower tray was dirty from our feet. When we closed the shutters on the balcony door you could see all the childrenβs sticky hand and finger prints on the patio door. We left the shutters closed so the cleaner could see the problem, but if she did see it she didnβt clean the patio doors. The bedroom floor and balcony did not appear to be swept or mopped.

Location was great, right on the water side esplanade, near lots of shops and restaurants. The room was fairly basis but very comfortable. The hotel had one of the old fashioned lifts with the manually operated gates, which we loved. Breakfast was good, with plenty of options.
We travelled by car and finding a park when we arrived was extremely difficult. The staff did not provide much assistance with this, despite there being a large public car park just down the road, which we had to find on our own.

An old fashioned hotel, partially renovated. Location was perfect, close to the promenade and the shopping streets.
The room shown on the website was obviously recently renovated. Our room (501), particularly the bathroom, had not been recently renovated. It was OK but showed its age and having a shower in the bath was a disappointment.
Both the free water in the fridge and the shower gel in the bathroom were not replaced daily.
Other than the room, there were no facilities to relax. The bar was closed, and a room to sit and read/play games on the very rainy day, was rather sterile. We had to ask to have the lights and heating turned on. Tea and coffee were provided on request but not volunteered.

I booked a Double or Twin Room with Sea View, as shown in the photos here on Booking.com. Upon arrival, I was given Room 102, which was totally different from what was advertised. Instead of a sea view, the room faced a dirty rooftop and lacked a balcony. Although the hotel mentions in a disclaimer here that not all Sea View rooms have a balcony, the pictures provided here are misleading. Iβve attached photos of the actual room for comparison.
When I raised this issue with the reception manager, I was told that Room 102 was indeed the one I had booked. Despite the clear discrepancies, the manager explained that the room shown in the photos was located on a higher floor and that the hotel was fully booked, leaving no alternative options. This explanation was unacceptable, considering I paid the same rate as other guests who received the advertised room.
Moreover, the room itself was outdated, stained, and far below the standards of a 4-star hotel. The overall condition was more like a 1 or 2-star hotel. Despite previous reviews claiming that the Rooms with Sea View had been recently renovated, our room was nowhere near that standard.
If you find yourself in the same situation, specifically with Room 102, I strongly recommend contacting Booking.com Customer Service. Itβs important to make them aware that the Miramare Hotel is misleading its customers. They may also be able to assist with compensation. However, my main advice is to avoid this hotel altogether if you donβt want to feel disappointed and scammed.

Right on the promenade this property is very conveniently located. It has great views and is ideal for strolling along the sea front enjoying the sunrises and sunsets or even just experiencing the vibe of Rapallo. Thereβs a public beach right nearby and 30+ restaurants all around it, including the in-house Miramare restaurant which is very elegant and has great outdoor seating.
The restaurant/bar in the piazza outside started a dance party with music loud enough to keep us awake which went on past midnight on a Sunday night. We had an early Monday morning start so that was a little annoying. Parking is a lucky draw - if you can find a spot, grab it because it gets full on the street and nearby parking lot, and the hotel doesnβt have its own parking or valet service.

We liked just about everything at this hotel. The staff was over the top helpful. I think it was the best stay on our 21 day Italy tour.
Couldn't use the refrigerator in the room without paying a 5 Euro daily charge.
