Friendly personnel, trying to help us save money e.g. by ordering a discounted taxi to get around town (20% cheaper than Uber, except for Airport transfers, which were more expensive).
Piping hot water available and amazing water pressure.
They use a key-card lock, of which the battery died and they did not have a charger at hand.
They offered another room for the night, but we needed access to our medication, toothbrush, clean clothes, ... There was no hesitation to break open the lock and we got upgraded to a better room.
I asked for a scale to weigh my luggage after all the souvenirs we bought, which they didn't have. I think this is a cheap/simple improvement.

This is a nice Hotel, with all that you need for a relaxing experience. it's like an old house but really well maintained, so you can feel like in your home. The room was very clean, with a good bathroom. They also count with restaurant but is only for taking breakfast and with a roof pool too, this is a plus if you want to have good time relaxing and enjoying swim or taking some drinks. The staff was friendly and attentive at all your needs. The hotel is ubicated in a good location and near restaurants and all interesting places.

The hotel has a pool on the 6th floor, they have an on-site restaurant which closes at 2pm. They have taxis outside the hotel 24 hours.
The bathroom had a funny smell but I understand it's an old building.

The property is in the best location you can get in the city. The staff are super friendly there is always some at front desk. Pool is and patio are located nicely on the roof top. The hotel itself is beautiful with a 360 lounge that has a piano and one of the evenings a musician came and played.
You cannot go to the pool or leave the property with the keycard as it deactivates and staff need to reset it
The fitness centre is a bit of a joke, needs some extra equipment.

Our first room had an issue with the water. As we arrived late, our first shower was kinda...not hot enough. The next day they offered us a different room, with hot water.
I need to say that the hotel looks really nice as architecture, rooms are basic, pool not swimmable but the hotel staff was amazing.
I especially adore the night guard.
Location is good with parking.

I didn’t like the pool was very murky and not clean at all. They blamed it on the city having bad water however, there were other hotels that did not have this problem. I didn’t like the paper thin walls. This hotel has a lot of potential, however, they are not investing in making it better by installing a water filter to clean the water. IT SMELLS HORRIBLE!! Cannot take a shower here because the smell literally stained my hands just from washing my hands alone. I didn’t dare let my body touch that water.

The hotel is just outside the plaza of the Dos Templos churches and offers beautiful views from the roof. The rooftop pool was nice although could have been a bit cleaner. We didn't end up using the pool which was one reason we booked the hotel. But the views and ambiance the rooftop terrace provided were very appealing. The room was clean, offering complimentary water, plenty of shampoo and soap packets. One thing it didn't provide were water glasses or even plastic cups, nor was there any ice to be had in the hotel. There was an issue with the utility closet next to our hotel room with a water leak and we were given an new room with the help of the staff to move us. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. It was a pleasure to stay at Hotel Santiago de Compostela.

I’ve stayed at this hotel various times and each time is always exceptional. The employees are very friendly and treat you like family. That’s one of the main reasons I keep coming back to this hotel. It’s in a good centralized location. Very walkable. The AC works really good. You can’t hear any outside traffic noise. The curtains block out all the light. Some evenings there is a very talented man who plays the piano in the lounge area. Highly recommend. 10/10
I really enjoyed everything about this place but if I had to say one thing that can be improved, it would have to be if they can clean the rooftop pool.

Beautiful hotel in the dead centre of Guadalajara. Absolutely lovely staff. A small, but clean pool on the rooftop terrace with views of the city.
The wifi was so slow it was practically useless. The tap water had a strong, salty smell, which sadly means you don't feel clean after showering. Windows are facing the hallway, which means choosing between fresh air and privacy.
