I understand the high demand of hotel in Tromso therefore the hotel price could be high but I was not expecting no tissue, no body lotion in the room. Many hotels now go on a trend which do not offer any amenities but never had a hotel with no face tissue or body lotion. And the room was quite small so hard to arrange 2 suitcases

We also arrived really late and the hotel let us eat at the restaurant despite having no space, which we really appreciated. And, when our return flight was cancelled, we were able to stay an extra night at the hotel unexpectedly.

The location is absolutely excellent for both exploring Tromso and also if you are trying to do any excursions/activities while you are there. The staff is super nice and friendly, breakfast is great and easy to get to, and it was a really nice option to have a restaurant right there. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.
The room was a little small, but we weren't really in it that often because we were out doing things, it was just that it was a little hard to fit luggage for our family.

The check in process is so important for me. There are staff who welcome you and make you feel at home. This is even more appreciated when you are traveling with family. Scandic Ishavshotel were horrible at this. Basically they couldn't find my reservation. The first person (am guessing a trainee) played with her keyboard for some 30 mins and finally asked her manager to intervene. The manager lady was not able to find it either. Said it was a booking.com issue. Asked me to come back after 30 mins. I came after 90 mins and the same lady told me that she hadn't had the time to do anything with my reservation. No apologies. Passed my case to another front desk person. He was more efficient this time. Through out there was no apology or anything.
Room was very basic, breakfast was decent. Basically, I didn't find this worth $500 a night.
Radisson blu across the road is a much better value.

Scandic Ishavshotel is situated very conveniently in the city and have a wonderful view of the harbour, overlooking moutains, the Arctic Cathedral and residences. It is a very beautiful and peaceful sight. It is also near to many eateries, shopping belt and also to pick up points for organised tours. Great location!
The room is reasonably size, we were able to open up two 30" luggages and still have walking space in the room. The bed was just a little soft for me but it did not give me any backache.
The breakfast spread was wide and superb. Great choices of food, much to choose from.
Wish they have facial tissue box in the toilet, complimentary bottled water, floor mat and no door bell.

The standard room was a decent size, but the family room was far too small. There was no phone in the room which created a bit on inconvenience when I needed to contact the front desk. The biggest problem was that when I entered my room for the first time, I noticed feces on the bowl and dirty water in the toilet. I called the front desk on my phone, and they decided to move me to another room. Unfortunately, the new room also had some feces on the toilet bowl. It was bad enough having a dirty toilet in my first room, but to be moved to another room with the same issue made me wonder about the cleanliness of the whole room. My final issue was the lack of storage in the room other than the closet. Storage space was insufficient for our weeklong stay.

Every interaction with the staff prior to arrival was exceptional—very quick to respond and very helpful. Check in wasn’t as smooth and the lady who checked me in wasn’t friendly. Left for an early flight, and packed breakfast was mediocre at best (sandwich, apple, OJ, no coffee).

The airport bus stops just in front of the hotel and you can find the schedule by the wall close to the gate. Heater works well. Breakfast is great with lot of choices and excellent taste. I like the meatball and juices. Friendly staff, easy check in and check out. Towels replaced everyday. Sit by the window to see beautiful view of Fjellheisen and Arctic bridge. We are glad to see the northern lights not too far from Tromso and the tour picks up us in front of the hotel. I highly recommend Scandic Ishavshotel when traveling to Tromso. Although we requested for daily cleaning of the rooms (we had 3 rooms between 4 of us), all of us agreed that the rooms were not properly cleaned. Coffee cups still had coffee stain, used sachets left on table top, conditioner bottle in the bathroom totally empty and carpets not vacuumed as still had bits and pieces like crumbs on the carpet. No body lotion provided or shower cap. The rooms are too dark and should have more light sources. We stayed 5 nights yet our sheets were not changed a single time during that period.

Room was functional but very comfortable. Check in area is rather small so it can get busy but we were dealt with quickly. I stay in multiple hotels around the world every year and would say that this is very efficient, clean and friendly.
The Breakfast was excellent, loads of choice but be aware that it can get busy...like anywhere btw.
Rooms are only cleaned on request which is perfectly fine, no issue for us and towels were changed every day.
Lastly, the location is excellent. Tromso centre is not huge but being right on the waterside is a nice plus.
Honestly, not a lot, it was fine...like I said, Breakfast could be busy but thats a common experience in all big hotels.

Great location very close distance to all of downtown Tromsø shops, restaurants and pickup points. The room was cozy and comfortable. The staff were friendly and the hotel was very clean. Breakfast was good and had lots of options.
I wish more in the room would have been provided such as an outlet in the bathroom, shower cap, robe and slippers so you don’t have to wear your snow boots everywhere.

In my opinion, this hotel is one of the most beautifully located hotels in Tromsø, thanks to its stunning and scenic location.
Starting with the staff, they were polite and friendly; however, they were not very helpful, especially upon our arrival. We had many suitcases, and there was no staff member available to assist with the luggage, which was disappointing for a four-star hotel where such service is usually expected. Another point to note is that there is no regular room service or daily housekeeping unless requested, which is also unusual for a hotel of this category.
Overall, the hotel is very clean, and the room was comfortable, well-maintained, and quiet. The breakfast was outstanding—extremely well organized, clean, and offering a wide variety of high-quality options. It was definitely one of the highlights of the stay.
The hotel lobby is well-arranged, stylish, and welcoming, adding to the overall pleasant atmosphere of the hotel.
Despite some service-related shortcomings, the hotel’s location, cleanliness, and excellent breakfast make it a very good choice in Tromsø.
There is no room cleaning service unless requested, and there is no proper reception service upon arrival or even when requesting a taxi, which was different from what is usually expected.

For the price of the room I would have expected not to have a ship right I front of my window running the engine all night.
The party that was going on in the hotel lobby and lower level was pretty rowdy.
When we asked for a cleaning of the room (with QR code only), they didn’t even cleaned it, didn’t make beds, just brought towels. Very disappointing.
Nothing to do with being environmental friendly at all.

The location is outstanding—within walking distance of top attractions.
Very satisfied with the staff and their warm service.
I was asked to present my card for security purposes, which I provided at checkout.
Unfortunately, my card was charged by the front desk staff without prior notification.
Although I was later informed it was a mistake, I believe the charge should have been validated with me first.
I appreciate that the payment was refunded the same day.

Room felt very small or was this the standard hotel room in Tromsø? The hotel shower did not drain properly resulted in mini flooding during and after shower. The window curtain - there was only one sun-blocking layer. The breakfast was good. Cleanliness and the cleaning routine consisted of emptying the bin in the room. Our towels were left unchanged, beds were not made and nothing else were cleaned. Pretty disappointed considering the cost.

The room was amazing with views of the water, mountains and cathedral! And we saw northern lights from the balcony! Centrally located to downtown Tromso this hotel is perfect for visiting this incredible city and walking anywhere you want to go.

The location was great, as was breakfast and the option for a family room with 2 bunk beds.
The room was very small, including a very small bathroom, which felt cramped for our family of 4 (kids 9, 11) and our luggage (1 bag each). Maybe the smallest hotel room we’ve stayed in in Europe. There are shared spaces in the bar area that were nice to have to go to and spread out a bit.
