Front desk staff were excellent, and my main hesitation for not writing a great review. The breakfast was also excellent, and in a very interesting basement room dating from the 14th century.
Getting to my room involved two elevators, lots of steps, and many long corridors. It was literally an expedition. When I departed, staff did handle my suitcase, but I wish I’d known to ask for this from the get-go. Space in the room was very tight. I asked for a quiet room, and my room did face the courtyard, but there was lots of noise from the kitchen, and kitchen smells that wafted up. No AC, so had to keep the balcony door open for ventilation. Balcony door also needed lubrication. Highest tub I ever climbed into to shower, felt like a hazard. Admittedly, I knew this was an old, classic hotel, but I didn’t realize all of the downsides to a standard double room. Perhaps the more expensive rooms were better.

The room was very clean and I slept well thanks to the cozy bed. The breakfast was nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is excellent — close to the train station and plenty of restaurants.
I was unable to open the window to get some fresh air. The hotel has a few stairs to reach the reception, which could be challenging for guests with mobility issues, though it was fine for me as I had light luggage.

We thought the breakfast didnt live up to such a lovely hotel, and wasn't the best, avoid the porridge it looked scary ! The actual breakfast room is in the historic vaulted cellar, which is an interesting experience.

Beautiful old house with carefully preserved history dating back 800 years, with meticulous restoration of old structures. Throughout the hotel walls, posters and pictures informing of the vast history of the building and it’s famous residents. Perhaps most famous of those, a Danish princess, whom I was able to spend an entire evening reading her very dramatic life story in the rift between the Swedish-Danish war in the seventeenth century.
A lounge, reminiscent of a library, to rest in with an open fireplace and tea, coffee and biscuits,
Warm, relaxing atmosphere.
Breakfast buffet with everything that could possibly be wished for.

The breakfast was very fine, everything was there that you could wish. Location also very fine, close to trainstation. Interesting to learn about the history of the building, the location in the cellar where the breakfast was served was very well maintained and spacious, here you could feel the Wings of history. Nice with pamphlets and a booklet for those that are intersted in the history.
The bathroom was nice, well designed, and modern. Obvious that it was remodelled.
The Room was ok, the bed nice, not too soft, not too hard madres, nice walltapestry, also good with a small table for writing.
Would be nice with comfortable, soft chair for reading...
But since history is in center it should be designed either modern style and/or fitting in style.

If you love history, you must stay at this historic hotel. And if you don’t, it might just make you fall in love with history.
It’s very well located, only a 5-minute walk from Malmö station. The rooms are a good size and reasonably priced,I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Breakfast is also good: eggs, yogurt, pancakes, etc., which is more than enough to start your day with a healthy meal.
I also loved the library. You can have a coffee there and enjoy some quiet reading.
Since I only stayed one night, it’s hard to say what I didn’t like, so nothing negative to report at the moment.
One small note: the library is beautiful and very relaxing, but it would be even nicer if it stayed a quiet space. A few guests were taking phone calls, which slightly disturbed the peaceful atmosphere for reading.

Excellent location to explore Malmo and close to the station for easy arrival and departure. Our room was clean on arrival. In Sweden you have to request further room service. Any request was promptly met. Front desk staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good quality with plenty of choice. Beautiful tea room which had once been Malmos library which you can spend time in.
There are some stairs to access reception. We could carry our luggage but might be a problem for some.

The location is great and the hotel is located in a historic, beautiful building. The room is very comfortable, we even got an upgrade to a bigger room. The shower is great and very spacious. The breakfast was fresh and there was a variety of food. The staff at the reception desk is very kind and pleasant.
Even though there is an elevator there were also a few sets of 3-4 stairs leading to our room which was located at the end of the hallway. This could be tricky when carrying heavy baggage. The breakfast starts and ends very early (6:30-9:30) so be careful not to sleep in ?

Very good location, close to central station. The building is a listed monument. Among other things, a historic lift is there. There was a small electric kettle in the room. The hotel employees are very nice.
