Room was nice and warm, plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits. Breakfast was very good. Food in bar was great. On site parking facilities was a bonus and location meant only a 20 minute walk into city centre. Overall a great place for a weekend break.
Bathroom fan was very noisy, didn't appear to be working properly. Shower cubicle and head wasn't the cleanest. Our room at the front of the hotel was quite noisy because of the pub and busy road.

Our room was clean and comfortable a reasonable size with a nice bathroom and shower. We decided to stay in and the food was excellent, staff were friendly and attentive, and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Breakfast was great, freshly cooked, and good quality ingredients. On site parking was also a plus but left the car as centre of Chester is only 15 min walk away.

Place was ok but it was freezing cold we had push around radiators which were a waste of time we were sat in our coats
Luckily we had to come home because my mother was taken into hospital ...we were booked in for 2 days but didn't stay for any ...we would have caught hyperthermia... the receptionist said she would sort out a refund but I still haven't got a penny back

Breakfast between 8am and 9am at the weekend - the only time I get to have a lie-in - was harsh.
Breakfast OK at best - everything a little dry. Poached eggs hard - bacon overcooked.

I know it couldn’t be helped but the kitchen was out of order. Table we booked for valentines night was cancelled.
We were staying bed and breakfast but couldn’t have a cooked breakfast because of the kitchen being closed. Only cereal and bread , cheese & ham and that type of stuff being offered so we had to go elsewhere for breakfast both days. Didn’t eat that crap because flies were under the clingfilm on the food.
Rooms very very dusty and filthy. They looked tidy but were unclean.
Radiator in bathroom was supposed to be chrome but was rust and chrome.

Location and facilities suited what I needed. I was unable to stay for the usual breakfast slot and was offered and accepted a tasty toasted breakfast sandwich that went down a treat!
I've only stayed during the week previously, so I hadn't planned for the music from the bar that played until 12 (completely understandable, but as I was there for business reasons, it inevitably impacted my sleep)

Great location for Hoole village. Breakfast very good.
Bed very uncomfortable. Mattress had big dip in the middle, making it difficult to get to sleep. Bathroom had a smell of mildew, possibly coming from the shower drain. No black out curtains, and our room was on the main road, so when curtains open everyone can see in. Not good when wanting to get dressed. There was no fridge to keep water cool in.

We were checked in within minutes of arrival and then shown to our room. The room was very clean and tidy, toiletries were provided in the bathroom and in the bedroom the tea and coffee tray was well stocked.
The bed was very comfortable and soft so if you like a firmer mattress this is not the place for you.
Breakfast the next day was very tasty.
There was a good continental selection when you walked in including tea, coffee, juices, cereals and yoghurt. We were only sat for a few minutes before our hot food order was taken, this appeared quite quickly and was excellent.
Overall this was a great hotel for a little stay over. Excellent location for us, not in the centre of the city but is within a 15 minutes walking distance or about £6 in a taxi. All the staff were very polite and friendly

A very welcoming property with great parking available. Room was ideal and breakfast was okay
First day was great with very attentive staff at breakfast. Day two I asked about berry tea and was handed a teabag and told where hot water was!
Although I’d stated gluten free the only option was gf toast but still a nice breakfast.
The floor is quite uneven in paces in bar which caused me to mind my step and drinks differed in price each time I went the bar, even though the drink may have been a change slightly from tonic to no sugar lemonade. Lampshades in bar could do with a dust down. Maybe an option if a throw for the bed too as I found it a bit cold

Food in restaurant was very nice. Breakfast was good but needs black pudding on cooked breakfast and fresh chopped fruit (strawberries, mango, kiwi, melon, berries) on offer for the price of the room.
Double bed mattress was awful, a lot of roll together and very uncomfortable. We booked the family room and the location was poor as there was a noisy outdoor seating area just outside the room.

This was a last minute booking for us and the property was in a good location for our purposes
The TV did not work - to be fair to the staff they did try to help. The bathroom was not spotless - it had had a wipe over but was not immaculate which is what I would expect.
