We stayed in one of the lodges as we had a dog , very good in every way As a dog owner you look for places That takes dogs and welcome them Yes there is a charge for you , but every place charges. Little things go along way . Like towel for your dog, dog bags and treats outside the wash station
Lovely comfortable old country pub/hotel. Very good breakfast and superb dinner on both nights we were there. The dark skies talk (on site booked separately) was fantastic.

The lodge was enormous, well-decorated and very clean. The shower was very good but I'd prefer a handheld option as well as the overhead. For the first tw
Nicely decorated and looked well maintained in bedrooms and communal areas. Comfortable bed and good temperature. Breakfast felt more up market as it was not buffet style and service was good. Evening meal was to a high standard, obviously popular which gave it a nice atmosphere.
The room was excellent, and there was lots of choice at breakfast. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant during our stay. The provision of Decaff coffee and tea in our room was great as was having fresh milk and biscuits.
I stayed at Battlesteads in Wark as a base for visiting Kielder Observatory, and it was a great choice. The hotel has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and is ideally located for exploring the Northumberland countryside. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent—especially the local
