Absolutely beautiful property in the center of Boston. Perfect location to visit all the different neighborhoods and sites in the city.

Room service should be open past 10 PM in any hotel anywhere, especially in a city like Boston. We are very disappointed to learn that on a Friday night the room service closed by 10 PM.

Room was very nice. Big and everything you need. It's an old building but still they keep it very current. Great at front desk (not so much at concierge-bell boys). I believe a lady by the name of Bethlehem was superb at check in. The room we requested was not available but she managed to upgrade and included a nice amenity for the trouble. Location is the best in Boston.

One of the three elevators was not working, so a bit delayed the elevators. The fact that the room with two double beds we reserved was not available and our daughter had to sleep on a twin rollover bed also makes it impossible to give a 10. Some work in Copley Square limited a better view, but not the hotel problem.

This is one of the most beautiful historic hotels in Boston. The marble floors and walls are gorgeous and the holiday decorations are beautiful.

Never once did the doormen assist with my light luggage or entrance doors. I am a cheerful but petite 66 year old woman traveling with an 8 year old granddaughter and those doors are heavy- fairly annoying to see up to 3 doormen chatting with each other on multiple occasions as we came and went from the hotel. The Oak Bar generally has good food but can get very busy so reservations are helpful.

The location was ok, and some of the staff were very good such as the bellhops and porters. Room was clean and housekeeping efficient everyday.

However, checking in and checking out were unnecessarily difficult. The person checking me in didn't seem to know what to do causing frustrating delays in what should have been an easy process, additionally I could barely hear her as her colleagues were talking so loudly among themselves (socially) that she often had to repeat herself - this just came across as unprofessional. The rooms are dated and incredibly noisey - you can hear all the conversations in the hallway and doors opening and closing. Water pressure in the shower is not good either making it difficult to wash hair. Checking out - I asked for my invoice to be emailed to me and it still hasn't despite me emailing twice to receive it. Overall a disappointing experience for the cost.

Room, first night I noticed that the closet doors don’t close completely leaving the inside light on while I slept. Without me saying anything, it was fixed the next day. Location is superb and unbeatable. I slept like a baby every night so bed is extremely comfortable.

I didn’t like the dated-ness of the interiors; e.g. while waiting for the elevator one can see the radiator heater from mid-20th century right there making a loud noise. The elevators themselves are also pretty old. Some may find this charming, not me though.
