It’s not a good room for resting.
The room was very noisy — the windows didn’t close properly, and you could constantly hear the air conditioners from the rooftops nearby, like the sound of an airplane turbine.
In addition, the room had a musty or smoky smell, as if it hadn’t been properly cleaned or the carpet wasn’t fresh.
The bed was a full size, which felt very small.

We had a really pleasant stay! What stood out to me was how professional and helpful the staff was. Additionally, the hotel is ideally located as you are walking distance to a lot of the must-see stuff in the city. It was nice touch to get the complimentary coffee and croissant each morning.

The hotel is small but extremely strategically located, truly excellent. We were able to explore many places on foot without any problems. The staff is friendly. Parking is available at public lots; the hotel offers suggestions for this (costs range from $35 to $46). The room is nice but very small, and honestly, it doesn't match the exorbitant price (typical for Boston), which lowers the rating (even considering the additional cost of parking)

The location of this charming boutique hotel in BackBay is unbeatable! We are glad our bedroom window is looking right into Boylston street and the Boston Marathon Finishing line just right next to the hotel. Feels so lucky! The hotel is right across the Boston Public Library and within walking distance to the Copley Square and Amtrak BackBay railway stations. All so convenient to do site seeing by foot ! And there are plenty of food options along Boylston Street, short walk to Boston Common and Public Parks etc. The service staff are helpful and friendly .. and that makes our stay pleasant and comfortable..
Will definitely recommend this hotel to first time visitors to Boston.
The room is on the small side for the price. Bathroom feels cramp for an average person and height. There is no warm kettle to keep water warm in the room. It is rather inconvenient to go to the bar downstairs to get drinking water. Luckily the service staff at the bar and concierge are friendly and helpful ! And that helps a lot!
Breakfast is just grab and go with two croissants and a coffee.. Perhaps fruits or yoghurt will be helpful too.
Otherwise it is okay for the overall stay experience.

The Charlesmark is my go-to hotel in Boston for the location, the price and the convenience. The staff are always welcoming, the rooms are clean and adequate, the bed is comfy, it suits my purposes perfectly.
The lift from the top floor takes forever, but that's a small thing. I heard we got a free croissant and coffee and while I found the coffee there didn't seem to be any baked goods on offer for breakfast.

There wasn’t a table for working in my room, but I was warmly welcomed to sit in the bar area, which was just as quiet and convenient.

The hotel is well located beside the public library and 5 minutes walk to the Back pay station. The stuff are really nice, I arrived a bit early around 1:30 pm and was able receive my room earlier than the check-in time.
The room is small, take that into account. They offer coffee in the morning at the bar but there is no a coffee machine or kettle in the room.

I had a tiny room in the back. The ceiling was so high it took forever for the room to warm up. Maybe a ceiling fan that pushes warm air down would help? The iron got way too hot! If I was really tall, the bed would have been too short. It seemed shorter than a normal bed.

Rooms are very small, so lower your expectations if you’re expecting to have any space, not even to put your toiletries. The shower water was so weak we literally couldn’t wash the shampoo out of our hair, the water strength was much less than the sink faucet, and the staff seemed indifferent when we mentioned it. The women at the front desk were lovely, but the man at the front desk was the opposite.

Fantastic location if you want to stay in Backbay and really close access to restaurants, coffeeshops, stores, as well as two train lines (orange and green), which made it super convenient central location.
The door lock was not very good and the deadbolt didn't really work. The door to the bathroom also wouldn't close all the way.

The location was excellent. I was traveling for work and came in a little earlier than check-in just hoping to store my bags but they were able to accommodate me and get me checked in early. I understand this isn't always available but it was very nice of the team to allow that. If you are in Boston for tourism this location is 10/10 perfect. You are within walking distance to tons of the local sites, restaurants, and shopping. Half a block away is the Copley Green line stop for easy access to other parts of town. The room is on the smaller side but that is expected with hotel rooms in cities like this.
The cleanliness of the bathroom was a little disappointing. I don't know if this is because I was allowed to check in early so they did a very quick basic clean on it and let me go in but I did expect it to be a little cleaner. It didn't seem like things had been wiped down or swept from the last guest. I was only there for one night and cleaned it up myself a bit and it was fine but it was disappointing to have to deal with.

Cleaning staff did not come in and make up the room; found a random paper towel in the fridge when I checked in. Morning coffee and croissant was disappointing. Staff could be friendlier. Also, the room was very noisy - you can hear every creak and toilet flush of neighboring rooms.

The heater was on-and-off all night to regulate the temperature since it was cold in winter, and the heater sound was for me a little too loud, that I woke up every time it re-started. If you are a light sleeper attention to that !
