The Vendue Downtown Art Hotel - Charleston
This Charleston French Quarter art-focused hotel includes 2 hotels—19 Vendue and 26 Vendue—dating from 1780 and features rotating art exhibits and tours. Waterfront Park, Market Street, and Charleston City Market are less than 5 minutes' walk away. Complimentary morning coffee and pastries are provided and drinks can be enjoyed on-site at The Rooftop cocktail bar.
Our restaurant, Revival focuses on recipes and/or ingredients from South Carolina’s past. Extras include a daily art reception with wine. A 200-piece rotating art exhibition is on-site at 19 Venue and additional art installations can be enjoyed at 26 Vendue.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Vendue. Excellent location in the heart of the historic old town--short walks to historical sites, restaurants, and shopping. Very comfortable room and bath. Super clean with very courteous service staff both for room and foro the wing--across the street from the main hotel. Nice amenities like wine tasting, sherry, and coffee. Would absolutely recommend and stay there again.

The location was perfect, very close to the water. The sights and walking paths were incredible.
I retired after 53 years of working and booked a celebratory 5-day trip to Charleston to celebrate with my son; who lives there. On day 2, I was accused of smoking in the room when I was absolutely not guilty of doing so, which caused me high stress and anxiety for the rest of my stay. There are a lot of details to go with this, but this is the gist. After I checked out I still had to argue against the false cleaning charge when I finally won the battle and received an apology.
The room did, however, have a strong odor of mildew.
My milestone life event and celebration dreams were tainted by this experience. It was perfect in every other way but for the enclave attack on my integrity.
The Enclave would have exceeded my expectations if not for this. Even the mildew was acceptable since the location is smack dab in Charleston's flooding zone
