Rosie and Michael welcomed us and made us feel comfortable from our first step on the property. From the breakfast to the ice maker in the room, everything was well thought out for the comfort of their guests. There was not one question that we asked that wasn't answered ~ mostly about the history of the house. Will definitely return when we visit Galveston again.

No hooks in bathroom for cosmetic bags or pjs. And no privacy on bath window. Windows from next door can see into shower through side of blinds. If I can see them they can see me. I had to stay at front of shower. Also most blinds didn’t work. You had to manually move slats. Complimentary lotion had broken seal and squirted everywhere. I would prefer more complimentary soda and no beer. I know some of this is small.

Location was perfect. We walked to the Strand many times. Loved being in the Victorian House section of Galveston, in a 1900 storm property. The room was nice, bed was comfortable, front porch was wonderful.

A small issue with staff when we arrived at the property (there didn't seem to be anyone working there and we waited a bit and had to call the property owner.) Shower was not cleaned/stocked before we got there and there was some trash left in the trash can.

The George Manor is located so close to the port so everyone at breakfast was also going on a cruise – but not necessarily the same cruise line. It made for an interesting morning conversation!

This was my second stay at The George Manor. The staff is like family, facility is remarkably clean and breakfast was yummy. Plus it’s very close to the cruise terminal.

My confirmation with Booking.com stated that I had free cancellation until seven days before check in and at that point my credit card would be charged. Instead my card was charged Two Months before that time. So be aware of this. First time I stayed there were nice slippers, this time they were paper. Very disappointed as the floors are hardwood.

We had fruit, coffee and pastries each morning. Several mornings we also had the English breakfast. The pastries were amazing and the English breakfast was very good. I would highly recommend it. We also had a group of 10 people for dinner the last night. The service and food was exceptional.

Proximity to cruise line terminal in Galveston. Very friendly owners who prepared a wonderful breakfast. Also, the option to have them shuttle us to the cruise terminal was great since it was raining when we had to go.

The room we had didn't have a bathroom in the room - had to walk across the hall to use bathroom. However, it was private for us and was very spacious, with a claw foot tub. Also - had to unplug a table lamp to plug in chargers for our devices.

However the door latching was as likely to keep you out as any one else. $250 a night and your door locks don't even work right? My stay at George Manor was pleasant overall. The hotel is nice, but it’s not a typical hotel – it feels more like a small guesthouse or bed and breakfast. The atmosphere is very calm and quiet. Although a tourist street is very close, there aren’t many attractions immediately around the property. On the other hand, that also means there is very little noise and not many tourists, which makes it feel more like staying in someone’s home. What really makes this place special is the staff. Rosie is a wonderful person and truly made our stay more enjoyable with her kindness. Michael is also very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is simple but perfectly decent. Kind regards!

The service from all staff, communication was on point, easy shuttle transport (fee involved) Breakfast was amazing, location to the town, fisherman's wharf and cruise terminal, the ambience, The Chef. The old building, mini bar in the room. The room was very large, had a TV (an adjustable arm would be great so you can watch whilst in bed or sitting on the lounge)

The room had a terrible odour, (I was told it is moisture build up on the floor when it rains) the PILLOWS and bed were not comfortable for me (maybe for someone else) The door to the bathroom is timber sliding and doesn't close properly, so there is no privacy. The owner needs to do some maintenance on the property, broken door lock, shower seal (I advised a lady staff member) We had the down stairs room (La Faete?)
