We spent 5 nights here as a family with 3 adults in one of the junior suites. The staff was great and gave us excellent advise on restaurants, subway, and touring options to complement our planning. I used the in-house gym a few times alone and it was fine. The coffee was also good to start the day.

NYC is loud at night! Throughout our stay there were multiple fire, ambulance, and trash service noises at night that woke me up but my wife and daughter slept right through.

We had a wonderful stay at the San Carlos Hotel. The accessible room was exactly as requested and very comfortable for our needs. Everything was clean and well maintained throughout our stay. The staff was always friendly, professional, and very helpful. They assisted us with arranging a taxi to the airport, which made our departure much easier and stress-free. The location is also excellent, close to many attractions and convenient for getting around New York. We would definitely stay here again!

Location is PERFECT, room is spacious and clean, the sofa bed is super comfy and staff is AMAZING! very attentive, quick on getting things done, and extremely sweet and nice! The most spacious room I have ever had in NYC. Super confortable beds, quiet room, excellent for rest and quality sleep. Very attentive staff. Convenient coffee maker, fridge and microwave. Near a couple of metro stations, walking distance to MoMA, top the Rock.. and some attractions, if you're a tourist.

Just the fact that the window is facing a wall.. and you don't get sunlight. The fact that you can't open the windows (I know the is not just in this hotel, quite American)

All staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. Great location for getting around New York and easy access for metro. The most comfortable bed/pillows ever! We loved everything! The location is perfect for navigating any part of the city. Our room was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed. The kitchenette was a great bonus. So many NYC hotels do not provide this.

There was some early morning construction outside that we could hear (perhaps that is why they are offering a discount this summer). But, we are early risers, so it wasn’t a problem.

Wow blown away by this hotel! Clean, efficient, friendly, great room, great size. The location is close to everything right in the centre of Manhattan. Very handy to have the microwave and fridge. Cleaning was always done when requested and to a high standard, bags stored when arrival and departure times differ from check in and check out. Couldn't rate this hotel highly enough!

Location: From JFK: take the air train, at the Jamaica station, transfer to metro E line, off at Lexington/E.53rd, walk on Lexington for 3 blocks down to E 50th and the hotel is on right side between Lexington and 2nd Ave. So easy! Very nice and kind stuff. Wonderful restaurants nearby.

Great location, within walking distance of the metro and several major tourist attractions such as Grand Central, Bryant Park, and Times Square (all about 10–15 minutes away). Despite being so central, the hotel is on a quiet street, allowing us to sleep very well without any background noise. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, which was very convenient. The rooms are spacious enough and clean. As we were traveling with young children, we especially appreciated the kitchenette in the room, including a microwave to warm milk — a very useful feature for families.

The location was fantastic! Everything was within walking distance: restaurants, shopping, sightseeing, and easy access to the trains. Getting around the city was incredibly convenient. The rooms are quite spacious by New York City standards. We booked a Queen Suite for four adults and had plenty of room to spread out comfortably. The suite included a sink, refrigerator, and microwave, which made our stay even more convenient. The beds were compfortable. The staff was outstanding—friendly, responsive, and always willing to help. We had several packages delivered during our stay, and they were brought directly to our room at the end of each day. The housekeeping team was equally accommodating and quick to provide anything we needed. Overall, we had an excellent experience and would gladly stay here again.

While our overall stay was very enjoyable, the hotel is showing its age in some areas. The living room furniture could use an update, particularly the couch and chairs. The cushions were worn down and lacked support, making them somewhat uncomfortable for extended use. We did not use the pull-out sofa, but based on its condition, we likely would not have found it very comfortable either. The hotel itself is somewhat dated, and the seating and common areas would benefit from a refresh.

The location was fabulous. Walk to everything. Underground, Grand Central, cafes/restaurants, grocery store. Bed was super comfy. Our older son slept on the pull out lounge. He said it wasn't that comfy. It was quiet even tho we were on the street front. We did ask for a room high up (12 floor) which did help. The aircon was a bit noisy so turned it off at night. Overall we had a great 6 night stay at San Carlos.
