This is my second time staying here and both times the staff were exceptional. The beds are very comfortable, and the decor/photos are more interesting than the usual run of the mill stuff. It feels more like a piece of history. The late check out time is super helpful as well. We had a late arrival time and needed that time for sleep!

The lobby is beautiful. The beds were comfortable.
Bathroom was not well designed; there was no place to put toiletries. The Shower head did not work well, and the vents were dusty. The air conditioning made a rattling noise. When I asked for milk in the morning to put in the free lobby coffee, I was told I could go to the Whole Foods and buy some. In fact, they were simply out of the creamer in the coffee area but didn’t think to check that.

The location was great for walking around the city and driving out of central Portland to visit friends.
It would have been great to be given printed info about the hotel services etc. without having to ask. We didnt even know about it until we saw another guest with the printout.
We are not always looking on line for everything about the hotel.

The hotel was located centrally; one of my main goals was to head to the Saturday Farmers market (really extraordinary) and it was a 10-15 minute walk - the weather was fabulous so it was very enjoyable. The room was very nice, super clean and the bed and linen also exceptional. I also enjoyed the bath/shower products, very nice and not overpowering scent. The staff was also friendly, both the valet who greeted and assisted and the gal (sorry, I didn't catch her name)at check-in, she was able to accomodate both an early check in and late check out, which really made things seamless. Also, having a nespresso in the room was a big bonus!
I did book a King room, but got a room with 2 doubles, not really a big deal, but I did request a room on a high floor, so perhaps that is why I didn't get a king? It wasn't a big issue, so I didn't even ask. I was on the fifth floor which was better than lower....

Great stay. Fab location in downtown Portland, lovely and well maintained building and rooms, very helpful staff. Morning coffee in the lobby and secure luggage after check-out were a welcome plus. Very comfortable rooms including beds. Quiet too - even though our room directly faced SW Broadway, we slept well.

I enjoyed the kind and respectful staff. It was very nice how secure the hotel is at night, I felt very safe. The room was very nice & the bed was so comfy. There was a broken light in the bathroom which was a bit intense... flickering the whole time, but not the worst. All in all a lovely experience.

The location was really central, which is both good and bad. Good being super close to lots of things, easy to walk to and from most places in town even later at night. But being in downtown it is a little louder at night, though that really didn’t bother us. Tours out to the waterfalls etc pick you up right outside the front door, where I should say the doorman was absolutely lovely. We had so many chats with him and got lots of info about Portland so say hello! The hotel itself was nice, and what we needed. Bed was really comfy, room had all the amenities you would expect. And for the price we were really pleased.
The only gripe is that the checkin/checkout process was a bit confusing. You’re charged a holding fee per night, which although pretty standard these days, was on the heftier side ($75pppn I think), and all of the details of the “amenity fee” (which thankfully was included in our prepayment), weren’t really explained. We only found out about the “free” 5pm drink via reading other reviews. Just a warning to do your deep research on places beforehand so you know what you’ve paid for!

Great hotel in a very handy location. Amazing value for money especially after Seattle! Easy to get to downtown and other key areas on foot (most things within 10 mins) and a bit further afield over the river and to the parks using trams and buses etc. Free beer and soft drinks during happy hour and coffee in the mornings were a bonus. Room was huge and very comfortable with a good view out of the front. Doormen were friendly and when we had a problem with our safe the receptionist/manager gave us from free drinks to compensate which was a lovely gesture. Decor was funky, reception had lots of comfy spaces to sit and gym and games machines were nice to have.
When we had a problem with our safe the first receptionist wasn't very friendly or reassuring. She didn't give us much information on what would be done so we got stressed as it was our last day and our passports were locked inside. She was then a bit curt with us when she could have been a little more professional given we were understandably not feeling great about it. It would have been nice to have free bottled water in the room given the quality of the hotel, but not a big deal.
Overall this was a great hotel however and we'd stay again.

2 bottles of water were left on the desk.. they were charging $7 for each bottle! No room service and took 3 requests on Friday morning to get a canister of hot coffee. I was surprised and disappointed for a hotel of this price range.

Location is good, central to a lot of things in Portland. I got to check in early because the room was ready and that's nice. They had some nice perks like a coffee station and a free drink during their happy hour thing - I did not partake, but nonetheless it's cool they offered it.
There was no real wow factor. Water dispenser was down in the fitness center - just a run-of-the-mill office water cooler. The bathroom was TINY - I didn't want to even close the door because it felt claustrophobic. Also, they had those industrial toilets with the kick-down handle to flush. A strange choice for a hotel.

Good for the price but they do charge for many things that at other hotels are complementary. But again, the stay price was good for the area.
This is a remodeled older hotel. So bathroom is small and could be a little better. Perhaps it was just the room that we got. Overall the room was comfortable.
