The location was pretty close to the cbd and Chinatown.
The staff were awful. They weren’t friendly or hospitable. We could look past that until we had our room serviced and the toilet paper wasn’t replenished. I popped down to reception to ask for some more. The women refused to give me more as that wasn’t something they could help with. The attitude that came along with the conversation was bad. It got worse the longer we stayed as they have a bell to enter through the front door, I assume as a safety measure, which is all well and good if the front desk is manned. We had to wait outside for 15mins ringing the bell, eventually another guest let us in. Not ideal. The final straw was when we checked out at 11am, our flight out wasn’t until that evening and I asked if we could leave our bags there until our Uber collected us. What I thought was a normal service for a hotel as we had done that at every other hotel on our trip. The same women refused to hold our bags and I asked what she expected us to do for 5 hours with our bags. She eventually let us leave them with no real process as to how many bags we were leaving so just added them to the pile. After an hour I felt so concerned about the lack of care for us as guests and then our luggage we ended up going back and heading very early to the airport. Unfortunately the poor service and our stay at the hotel put a damper on the city for us. I wouldn’t recommend anyone staying here or would I stay here again. Awful.

The property was clean. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Good location, close to everything and no sketchy people nearby. The room was small but was able to cater our needs and it was a good value for our money.
There was no hair dryer in the room. You need to borrow from the front desk and return it when you checkout.

Prime location, walking distance from Union Square and shopping district. About 10-15mins walk to Powell station.
Room is a bit running down. No power point next to the bed. Staff are generally nice but there was one staff didnt even bother to open the doors for guest back from outside even after a minute. I was the one helped to open the door from inside as i was happened in the lobby at that moment. Staff was in the office and didnt bother to answer me nor the guest outside the building

Poor safety, I used a socket next to light plugged into another socket. The wire started flickering. I complained fridge wasn’t working, I had to go down to reception to report as telephone didn’t wasn’t wired as no cables. With the fridge they would come and check shortly, never did.

The room itself was fine, clean, fairly updated, not too cramped, and included an iron and ironing board. The wifi worked well, a plus. There were clean towels each morning. Overall it was fine, not bad, but not great.
The lobby areas were pretty dingy, with old carpet and lumpy painted molding -- basically just not that modern. The staff were not unfriendly but not notably friendly. The room seemed to be only partially straightened overnight. The in-room coffee maker was low budget and also had to be moved onto a chair to be anywhere near a plug -- like many hotel rooms, this one needed more plugs.

I had made a booking with Hotel Amari for 8th December for 1 night stay as my friend. After arrival at the hotel they took a mandatory $250 from my credit card as a deposit which they said will be returned on 9th December immediately after checkout. After the money was debited the front desk girl was not ready to give me a receipt of the deposit. She tried to manipulate me by saying that the receipt will be available online in my inbox. After having a lot of logical discussions she agreed to give me a receipt.
We faced other amenities related issues in the hotel which I will skip here
Next day we had to check out early in the morning at 7.00am and there was another staff member (named D. Patel) and he said the amount will reflect in a day(please note this was a false information given).
After a day on 10th December, we called them asking about deposit money and the front desk person said it will take 2-3 business days(please note the misinformation from 2 different people). After 3 days we again called and the executive in the front desk said 4-5 business days(another piece of information that does not match with any executives).
At the end I asked them to show proof in their account statement or transaction ID that they have initiated the refund. Ever since then they could not produce any proof. I talked to the general manager of the property, Ken Patel and his behaviour was also the same. He was very rude and he said he can't share the transaction details for security reasons. He is such an illiterate that he can’t right an proper. A transaction details is a standard tracking information used by banks to check any transactions globally. In addition to that the GM also informed me that my card which was a forex card is a debit card and it will take 30 working days. Please note that they did not mention anything such during the booking. By not sharing transaction ID they proved that they did not reversed the money. I didn't get money. Booking.

Receptionist was great and supportive. Overall facility is a simple one with no frills but is decent for a couple of nights. Rustic touch with interiors which I liked a lot!
Access to key areas like union square or cable car stops which are a very short walk from the hotel! Very good location.
No room service which meant I had to come down for everything including to get a heater for my room since the existing one has limitations to its functionality.
My biggest peeve was water. There is no drinking water provided in the room. Hope the hotel is able to provide atleast 1 bottle or a water station. It gets annoying to run outside for water time and again.
Overall not really a problem but some areas of improvement.

Hotel is great. Needs a little updating. Unfortunately the area is over run with drug addicts and homelessness. However, that has no reflection on the Hotel. It's the issue in the ENTIRE CITY!
I wish the shower has a hose and maybe a mini fridge. And even though I didn't need a microwave, maybe one near the ice machine would help guests.

For its price, this hotel is a pretty decent option. The only downside is that the rooms close to the elevator shaft are very noisy. You can literally hear when the elevator moves up or down every time, and it's annoying at night. The staff was friendly and helpful, though they provided keys to rooms already occupied a few times, invading the privacy of guests. The room was clean and spacious. Overall, it's an okay place to stay if you don't mind some trade-offs.

The friendly receptionist.
We stayed for 3 days and booked 2 rooms for a total of 8 guests, including 4 adults and 4 children. However, our experience was disappointing. Despite our extended stay, we were provided with only one roll of toilet paper for each room, which was insufficient. Additionally, the housekeeping service did not replenish basic amenities such as toilet paper during their cleaning rounds. We were also surprised to find only 2 towels in each room, despite indicating in our reservation that there would be 2 adults and 2 children per room. The rooms emitted a stale odor, suggesting a lack of recent occupancy or thorough cleaning. Furthermore, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, making it difficult to rest properly. Overall, our stay was unsatisfactory, and I would not consider staying here again. The only positive aspect was the friendly receptionist.

The program . The front door is always locked and you have to ring the bell every time that you go in and out to enter the building. The staff change up often at the front desk , so every time that you enter the building , they ask you for identification. It's like registering every time you go in and out . There is some kind of steam heater in the room that comes on and sounds like tea brewing and hissing that woke me up constantly

You are close to the city centre and it is quite a safe area.
The girl at the desk, if you have a guest to check in you stop talking on your private phone.
When you enter there is a very strong smell that I can't describe. There was a sign saying that the day after there will be no water unfortunately the sign was saying 2023! The rooms are very old and the carpet was dirty and the bathroom floor either. My heating wasn't working, very difficult system of lighting, You can hear everything from the other rooms and eventually someone above mine was moving furniture. If you provide a guest with a blanket make sure it is clean and maybe in a clean bag not just dump in the drawer. There is no hairdryer in the room. Amenities very poor

At current prices, the Amari is a great choice. It is immaculately clean, extremely quiet and comfortable, everything is new and freshly painted, and the whole team is very professional. I loved my stay.

Easily walkable to the train station and cable cars to connect to other parts of the city. Lots of restauratns and china town nearby. Felt safe.
Room was simple, but all as expected. Mattresses were surprisingly comfortable. Wifi was very good. Parking costs extra but it was the cheapest parking rate by a lot that we saw while walking around nearby.
The pillows were pretty sad. Very flat and only one pillow each given. I wish there were a couple of pillows provided, like a thin one and a fluffy one.

I didn't like the fact that I had to go ask for a pen/writing pad and told none is available and sorry until I saw one on the CPU. I think rooms should have microwaves just in case.

They asked me to pay 250$ refundable in 30 day usually it’s just a security deposit but I heard refundable in 30 days which is ridiculous if I hear it right.
No microwave to heat up food, the heating / Ac was centralized and I called the front desk to say I was cold , he said to call in 45 mins when it was almost MN so I fell asleep covering my self with folded linens and bed cover to keep me warm. I called front desk many time but to no avail my calls was diverted to like a automatic answering machine that my needs or wants didn’t get answered
