The Staff is the best thing about the hotel. Had an issues and the Manager resolved it!
The AC shuts off in the middle of the night and you wake up with wet pillows etc because it’s hot then. The house coffee is also not good so I walked to Starbucks.

The staff were exceptional. We were in town for over a week bc a family member was in the hospital. The staff went out of their way to not only make sure we were comfortable but to help us on a personal level. They even welcomed our dog which we had to bring bc of our emergency Special thanks to Front desk Blanka and the doorman/security man (Amand? Can’t remember sorry). The facility was spotless. We were amazed at how absolutely quiet it was inside the room as there is double paned windows. The engineering team is doing an exceptional job as the AC worked really well and was the quietest I have ever encountered in a hotel! Terrific water pressure too. Beds was firm which was great for me, but my husband would have liked the option to have a mattress topper. The front desk again helped out sending multiple duvets to create a softer base. It is close to Union Square which is good and bad as the City continues to displace its houseless population closer to this area without actually helping them; but this is on the mayor not the hotel. Thanks all!

The room and bathroom were very comfortable and clean! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby area was very pretty. Overall, the hotel was clean and lovely.
I did not like the parking situation. Parking in San Francisco seems very difficult in general. There is a parking garage very close to the hotel, but it is not part of the hotel and it is very expensive. It was $70 to leave my car there overnight. They also seemed to change their rates daily and said that I had to leave my car key with them, which I was not entirely comfortable with. Their sign said there would be an extra $50 fee if I did not leave my car key. My car was ok and we were able to retrieve it from the garage after our stay with no issues, but overall, the parking situation was uncomfortable for me.

Comfortable bed and pillows. Loved getting the refillable water bottles as well as free coffee before 10am. Close to shops such as Macy’s and close to the cable car. Right near theatres and some good cafes and restaurants such as Heist and Tonton.
Nothing we didn’t like about the hotel but sadly only a block or so away is an area where there’s lots of homeless people - something to be aware of as a tourist coming to San Francisco.

Nice hotel in the Union Square area of San Francisco, with a great bed and a well equipped gym for those that want to exercise.
We were given 2 drink vouchers for the in house restaurant at check in and when we went to use them, one of the restaurant staff was rude, so we left and reported it to the hotel reception and the lady gave us a bottle of wine in compensation.

The location is close to the Tenderloin so it's best to walk down or above Geary Street for safety.

The staff were amazing. We stayed one night. Had a midnight flight to Hong Kong the next day, so it didn't make sense to book another night for only a few hours. The Marker kept our baggage while we explored the city AFTER we checked out, and when we returned later, they allowed us to charge our phones. This is exceptional courtesy and customer service, in our opinions. The next time we come through San Fran, this will absolutely be where we stay again, and the only place we will recommend to family and friends.

I've reviewed the hotel before. So, briefly: Love this hotel! My go-to for SF overnights. Rooms are great. Free coffee is available in the mornings. Location is perfect!!
The restaurant inside (Tratto) has changed ownership and isn't as nice. It looks the same but the menu and general vibe are not so fab. Particularly, the previous signature cocktail menu is gone and the food options are numerically and creatively limited. The happy hour free drink was a nice touch (albeit a free glass of budget wine not available - deemed worthy of being available? - on the regular wine list).

The beds were too soft, and the rooms were quite noisy.
Parking at the hotel was extremely expensive ($75 per night), so we opted for a nearby self-parking option at $50 per night, which unfortunately also felt unsafe after dark.

We stayed two nights at the hotel and appreciated being allowed to check in an hour earlier than scheduled. The room was clean and comfortable, and the valet service was excellent—very helpful, professional, and efficient throughout our stay. The receptionist was polite and apologetic each time we raised an issue, and eventually ensured that the missing items were delivered.
Unfortunately, there were several service issues during our stay. Upon arrival, the room did not have enough bath towels or complimentary water for the four of us. Despite informing the reception multiple times throughout the day, the issue was repeatedly promised to be resolved but not addressed until late in the evening, after several follow-ups. Additionally, in the morning, when we went to get coffee, the thermos was empty, and the waitress responded rudely when asked for coffee without having breakfast,making us wait without returning, which caused us to leave without having any. Overall, the lack of follow-through and poor communication significantly affected our experience.

The room was somewhat dirty and uncomfortable. Bathroom door was a sliding door that did not lock. Above the doors and light fixtures were very dusty and dirty with an inch of dust. Holes in the curtains. Toilet rocked. Carpet extremely dirty .

The staff was exceptional especially the front desk team. Valet was speedy and the room was cozy but nice. It's an older building and hotel so there was some wear and tear on the rooms but they were clean and comfortable. You can see they've made some renovations. Overall we had a wonderful stay.
Our room was on the street side and there was a lot of noise from passing vehicles and people on the street. The location is just shy of a growing unhoused area. Around the corner and a block up it was pretty bad and there was a lot of trash etc. The city cleans it up early in the morning. Also parking on site is Valet only and $75 which was pretty steep so keep that in mind if you're driving.

Service in hotel restaurant was not great and over priced for what we had.

I had an excellent stay at The Marker Union Square and would absolutely choose it again. The room was very comfortable and, despite being in a busy downtown area, impressively quiet (I was on the 7th floor). It made for a very restful experience. The desk staff was absolutely stellar - special shout out to Priscilla! Everyone at the front desk was efficient, kind, consistently smiling, and genuinely sympathetic. They helped us solve different issues during our stay with professionalism and warmth, which really made a difference. The hotel restaurant is also quite good. Breakfast (not included with the room) was very enjoyable and well worth it. The location is downtown, so you encounter the usual big-city realities, but I did not feel especially unsafe walking in the area. There are also many excellent restaurants within easy walking distance, which is a huge plus. Overall, I wouldn’t even consider looking for another hotel next time I’m in San Francisco, I would happily stay here again.

Love the interior design and decor! Also like the colorful room, antique furniture matching modern backdrop!
Hotel is in good location; near to Union Square and Bart station. Spacious lobby areas for guests to rest and hangout! We especially like the fire place, cozy and keep us warm!
The unfortunate thing is the location of hotel is by the edge of Tenderloin where homeless and drug addicts live.
We have to avoid walking to those areas. However, you can't avoid them all if you want to see SF city!

We enjoyed how close the location was to the trolley, and other fun spots! There were great drinking spots and clubs right down the road.
The area the property is at is not the cleanest and though they accept dogs, it was difficult to find a secure spot to walk and allow our dog to use the restroom. The hotel did not have an area just for this so it complicated things a bit more for our doggy but we managed.

The theme of the room is modern, the bathroom is very nice and spacious.
One of the table light lost an on and off knot, the shower hanger is loosen, the worst part is , there were 2 flies in the room .
