Nothing beats touchstone at this price. Everything was good and the receptionists were really kind. The room wasn’t big enough but cost-effective and cozy, and the 24h reception made me feel safe.
If toothpaste could be provided, that would be perfect.

The noise is unbearable I could hear everything from the next room, and even outside noises were driving me crazy. The facilities are extremely old. The bathroom is so unpleasant that taking a shower was almost impossible. The towels provided were worn-out, like old rags. I’m not even sure if they’re properly laundered.
The room is extremely, extremely, extremely small. I booked a small room, but don’t expect anything like a standard single room in a normal hotel. I thought I was booking a cheap room, but after seeing the condition, it should have been even cheaper. If I had known it would be like this, I wouldn’t have booked it.
Unless absolutely necessary, avoid this hotel. Housekeepers entered my room without knocking. It seems the staff have no proper hotel service training. The front desk staff, who appeared to be Chinese, handled my bag carelessly, making it very difficult to open. Another staff member had to help me finally get it open.
In short: do not book this hotel.

Location is great, and the staff were very helpful and professional. I appreciated the extra storage space for our baggage.
The room was clean but a bit outdated, and the shower had very low water pressure. Unfortunately, the fire alarm started beeping around 1 a.m. and continued until I left. I was told in the morning that it had been reported earlier and supposedly fixed, but clearly, it wasn’t.

Great location, super handy for the centre of town. Room was clean and towels refreshed each day. Plenty of plug sockets and a hair dryer. The bathroom was a decent size and the shower was hot. I asked for a quiet room and it was great. Wifi was good.
Fairly basic, the room was a bit too dark and there is no heating which meant it was a bit cool on a cold October night. Has a tired feel to the decor. No tea or coffee facilities, but then it is a 2 or 3 star hotel so that's to be expected.

The staff! They were amazing, so kind and friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable and I felt safe especially with the 24hr front desk and the locked front door. Breakfast at David’s Diner was great too! I would definitely stay here again.
The area itself is a little sketchy with a few homeless and drug affected people nearby but there are security around. However, it didn’t affect my stay just something to be aware of when walking alone particularly jones/taylor street towards market street.

Location is very convenient and the personnel is very helpful and nice. Good value for money.
The towels and bed linen were worn out, giving also the impression not to be very clean - although they cleaned and changed towels on a daily basis. Would be nice to have a boiler in the room as well.
At the found floor there’s a diner and from 7am you start feeling the smell of food.
A few homeless in the area - clearly not the hotels’ fault - but I’ve never felt unsafe anyway.

After checking out they allowed us to stay an hour longer in their office since we had to work on something urgently before hitting the road. Later we realised we lost a piece of valuable jewel. The office staff and the cleaning staff took time to search for it in the room, located it and save it for one of my friends to pickup.

This was a basic no-frills room but it was clean and very comfortable. It actually exceeded my expectations. Very convenient location, and about a 10 min walk from Powell st Station. Overall good value. They even give you a 15% off coupon for the diner next door.
Shower was small. I think the AC is controlled by the front desk. It was cold in the room when I went to bed but when I woke up it was warm, so I'm assuming they turned it off. There is a ceiling fan in the room though.

The staff was very friendly. The room was very clean. They even made my bed while we were gone. It was a very simple, no thrill hotel room and it was small with no AC, but it was so cold in the room that it didn’t matter even during the summer. It was very cold and comfortable in the room. I would definitely book here again and there’s even a very nice restaurant connected to the hotel. Also, there is a heater in the hotel if you get too cold, but I must say if you’re not looking for anything fancy and you just want a nice clean room for a decent price I would totally recommend here. I was able to take the bus to get to where I needed to be for not a lot of money I was visiting from Texas. I must say the weather was so nice there that even without the room having AC iI slept better than I do here in Texas. That was the best night sleep I’ve gotten in a long time.
I can’t really think of anything that could’ve been better for the price. It exceeded my expectations.
I was just hoping to get a clean room and I did. I had no idea what to expect from a moderately priced room, and I am happy. I decided to take the chance. I think the main thing I was looking for is just cleanliness for the pricing and the hotel is nice and clean.

The location, it is close to all the attractions and the Hip hop stop.
Pay attention San Francisco downtown is packed with homeless, but that has nothing to do with the hotel location.
