The location and the price for the time of year. The dinners was really good and the wait staff was excellent.

The desk staff was a bit short with me when I asked a couple of questions. It bothered me the way she addressed me.

The location is great. The room suite was huge with a fully equipped kitchen. The bed was comfortable. Loved having a washer & dryer in the suite and soap was provided.

I was expecting a view, but the shrubs around the patio were so overgrown we couldnโ€™t see anything past them. The A/C kept the room cool but it was very loud when running. The living room furniture was not very comfortable.

Great location if you look for remote place to stay; about 20 minutes to the city by car. Beautiful views of the mountains and the valley with Tucson lights in the distance. Room had a small fridge, microwave, toaster, all utensils/dishes. Not perfect but we enjoyed our stay. Big pool. Golf course. Tennis court. Very few people using any amenities.

I wish they turned the pool area lights off at night for the sake of dark skies. Restaurant was closed. Door between 2 suites is not sound prove - you can hear everything from adjacent room.

The property seemed a little outdated, there was a musty smell when we arrived. Not sure how well the pool was taken care of - lots of bugs floating on the surface.

Great location, quiet area and great hikes right next to the property.

I read in the reviews that you could hear people in the adjacent rooms but thought I would chance that I stayed next to someone quiet or no one at all. No luck. I heard the family next door yelling at their kids and swearing. If they could improve the soundproofing, this place would be phenomenal! Also, the hot tub was also broken. ?

Beautiful natural location in the hills. Connects to amazing hiking trails. Golf course is stunning. The resort does not own the course but there is a symbiotic relationship between them. The pool is lovely and heated. The landscaping at the resort community is stunning. There is a gym by the pool that has enough machines if you need to get a workout in. Thereโ€™s a bookshelf with books to enjoy while lounging at the pool, which was a thoughtful touch. We were in a one bedroom with living room and kitchen. Unit was a great size. We loved the southwest architecture and decor. Kitchen was clean and very nice. The resort is a bit far from anything, which we liked. About 10-15 min drive to get to anything (restaurants, supermarkets, shopping, etc.). We like the peacefulness of that. We love that itโ€™s in the hills overlooking Tucson. The stars at night are tremendous. Lots of wildlife. We saw herds of deer, a family of Javalinas, a tortoise, a few varieties of snakes, a bobcat, road runnersโ€ฆ. Did I mention the hiking and Golf course views are spectacular?

Biggest down point for us was the thinness of the walls between units. Not sure if we were in an older section, but you could hear the people in the unit next door talking, as if they were in the room with us. Other than that our experience was sometimes a bit odd because the resort was starting renovations. So Iโ€™m sure our experience was not the norm because of that timing. There was no restaurant, no spa, no gift shop, and we were told we could not use our patio, which was disappointing. The womenโ€™s bathroom was out of order in the main building, and missing artwork on the walls and other renovation prep (like starting to empty the golf shop) made the main building lackluster and look like we were staying in a closing business. Staff were very nice and helpful and the resort did give us a $50 gift card to a local restaurant due to the variety of inconveniences, which was definitely appreciated, but it was disappointing that it was not a polished resort experience.

โ€ข One (1) day before we arrived, I received a long voice mail message from the property announcing an upcoming renovation of the golf clubhouse, which included closure of the restaurant and bar and other amenities. We had made this reservation through Booking.com three months earlier, and Booking charged us for the full stay in advance. When I called the property and asked why we were not notified earlier, the response was that โ€œwe only heard about this from the golf club a week ago.โ€ โ€ข Since we were driving down from Oregon we did not want to scramble and try to change this reservation and book another property elsewhere. โ€ข The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom amenities disappointing (tiny container shampoo for two people for two nights? The coffee was terrible and no creamer was provided โ€“ I drove to the clubhouse to get some. โ€ข Even though most hotels these days have you pre-pay your stay, and then also ask for a credit card to put a hold on a security deposit โ€œfor possible damages, or having a pet in your room, etc,โ€ the first morning of our stay we had to listen to a small dog barking right next door to us. โ€ข On several occasions wi-fi slowed down or stopped working.

Suite was immaculately clean and had very comfortable beds. Outdoors, the community is beautiful, quiet, and easy to navigate. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful. Because I was checking in after hours, I was welcomed by the security guard, Luis, who was exceptionally professional, courteous, kind, and helpful. The gym facilities are small, but well equipped and clean.

No objections.

Location and the idea that we would have a beautiful room, however that was not the case.

Carpeting was saturated with water near the bed... leaking from construction outside. Windows were in terrible shape and the frames were rusty. We could not stay in the room and moved to another hotel.

There was no breakfast provided!

There was nowhere to sit outside; no patio, no chairs, etc. There was a dingy window with film on it that had worn off that looked at the desert in the back of thd unit. The carpeting was worn and there was no water pressure in the shower. There was also no loveseat or chairs. We either had to sit on a small chair at the table of on the foot of the bed. I'm not sure why it was called a suite or why a $250 deposit was required! The place was nothing more than a substandard hotel room. We were both extremely surprised and disappointed!

The lay out and look of the resort. The second staff member that helped me after trying to find the check in area. He immediately directed me to the right place without judgement or frustration.

There's three things, the third one minor and had little bearing to my overall impression. 1. When you check in, the signs lead you to what looks like a restaurant and main admin area. You'd think that's where the check in would be. It took 30 minutes to find. I was so frustrated, if I hadn't already paid I would have left and gone somewhere else. Check in was around a dark corner, in that area. And I mean dark, because it was nighttime and it wasn't well lit or inviting. It looked like I was going into a storage room, or private staff area so I was very hesitant. The sign on the door didn't even say check in, you can't open the door you have to be let in from somebody inside. The ring doorbell didn't work, I had to knock on the door. It was such an uninviting and very unexpected check in experience. 2. When I first got there, I went to the main well lit admin building/restaurant to ask where I check in. I was helped by a Brunette woman who could have been a waitress. She was very annoyed that I didn't know where to check in. She literally directed me to another resort further up the road. I didn't realize until I was back in the car and trying to follow her directions. She also told me that if I had programmed Starr Pass hotel into my phone I would have found it. Wow. Lucky for her, I have a freeze response when somebody is unexpectedly rude. I really regret not taking her name out asking for a manager. She shouldn't be working there. 3. The room smelled like old smoke. I get it. It's not the resort's fault people think they can get away with smoking. The room itself was lovely and clean. I think at this point I was just so frustrated and upset because of the check in experience that when I got to my room it was just one more negative thing.

(Feb 2026) Good Rooms. Well Appointed Kitchen. Reasonably Clean. New-ish furnishings. Good Wifi for Streaming. This is a timeshare property with lots of retired guests who come here regularly for up to a month at a time. This lower guest turn around creates a more "Homey" feel to the Resort. We stayed for 10 days and had the same two guest cars parked on either side of us every day. It's a small detail but it gives you a sense of the truly relaxed energy this place exudes. Another example was the pool. The chairs around it were well occupied, yet you could still hear the breeze, and water was for most part undisturbed even when people were inside. It is like they created a place that matches the stillness of the desert outside. Overall a truly memorable Trip. DONT RUIN THIS PLACE !!! ... Please.

Dark Tile Floor in the Kitchen was rather old and lots of deep chips in the corners (Nothing dangerous or sharp). Yes, the tiled area was characterful, and it would've been okay for an outside patio. However, for the kitchen, something newer, lighter colored, flatter would've really helped clean up using the provided broom. The Bathrooms have very beautiful updated Tiles and fixtures, so I'm hoping the kitchen tile gets some attention as well.
