Perfect location to visit DC, close to most of amenities either by walking or by bus which is in the front of the hotel.
Very clean room with the basic needs.

The day of the arrival the lobby person (arrived around 1am) was the most rude person i ever met, got treated like crap, didnโt want to explain the 150usd holding deposit, laughed about the questions and was high on top of it.

Near transport.
The room light was not bright enough. So dim. No replacement of tissue box as it was 1/4 left when we just arrived. Broken drawers, can't use at all.. need to go get hot water in lobby which was inconvenient.The receptionist in from from Sat to Monday didn't even bother to fill up the kettle as compared to the Friday guy.

The staff was very polite. The bed was comfortable. The room was cosy. Free coffee and microwave usage at reception. The neighbourhood was quiet and nice, very friendly area. I would come back here. Perfect value for the money! Location is good, 15 minutes walking distance to the White House. The bus stations are nearby for other parts of the city.
No parking slot. The facility is a bit outdated, would be nice to renovate the bathroom and windows.
The isolation isnโt perfect regarding the noise from other rooms.

I booked a normal room knowing it's a two stars hotels. I've been in many two stars hotels, even in Africa and they were fine. But there's a twist: they did not write that many of the rooms are actually in a DARK HUMID BASEMENT without windows of course and with happy beatles rooming around and you're a street level just separated by a gate of a backyard. My room didn't have a proper wall but a transparent door covered by a broken shade. The room looked creepy and stinky. They don't write in the description of the room that it is placed in a basement so you think you're booking a normal room of a two stars hotel (and there are some upstairs) but then you end up in the most humiliating stay you can ever think. The people at the desk seemed very careless about it because they think it's normal to pay 600 dollars for 5 night in such a place. I've been travelling in 40 countries and never seen such third world situation. I left early and I'm gonna make a complaint to booking.com to have those rooms removed by the website or at least they should write in the title it's a dark humid basement unit.

The staffes are nice. The environment of the location is very good. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance. They provide coffee and tea for 24 hours. There is also a refrigerator in the lobby. So, customers can place their food. The house keeper cleans the room everyday.
Honestly, the size of the room is very small. The building is old. The location of the hotel is in between two metro stations. So, my husband and I went to sight seeing by bus. It is okay because the bus service is good!
The AC in the room is noisy and not powerful. We had to adjust to a very low degree in order to get cool to sleep. There is Washington DC, we cannot ask too much!

First impressions upon arrival: the front yard was unkept; the front door facade was old, banged up and needed a new paint job. Room, Number 107, was unclean and seemed to be unoccupied for months. The inside chain lock on the door was broken. The wooden floors were dusty and sticky. There were spiders/cobwebs on the base boards and corners. The desk phone didn't work. The furniture was old. The windows did not have curtains to block out the sun - only blinds that couldn't be moved. There was no safety deposit box in the room or at the front desk. The only mini-refrigerator in the entire hotel was in the lobby, with open access to anyone to take your food/drinks etc. The ice machine was broken. And the most annoying complaint is - THERE WAS NO HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER!!! To have a check-in policy of requiring a $150.00 security fee in case of any damage to the room is an utter joke! I DEMAND A PARTIAL REFUND (50% OF ROOM RATE) BE CREDITED BACK TO MY MASTERCARD ASAP FOR
AN AWFUL, FRUSTRATING AND TERRIBLE START OF MY VACATION.

Given last room on 4th floor..no elevator...wooden steps...asked about a lower floor...told that the empty rooms were not yet cleaned....I arrived after delayed flight around 2 a.m.. asked about a bottle of water....told to drink water from the tap. For the 2 days, I saw or heard NO ONE else on the 4th/3rd or 2nd floor....only a lady who checked in the day after I got there and given ground floor room. The water in taps were spurting out like taps not opened frequently. The window blinds could not be opened. The TV had to get maintenance to start it but with about 3 channels...

Exceptionally quaint for the cozy budget traveler. The most comfortable mattresses Iโve ever slept on in a hotel. Hands down. Great central location in a neighborhood with walking distance from everything also very quiet.
Being a bit dated, the wall paper is a bit of a headache, the internet is a little slow, window blinds are a little torn. But those are all oversight and can be fixed easily still didnโt have a negative problem.

My room, while nice and clean, had a very sharp, pungent "chemically" smell that was overpowering, Not sure what it was but the previous room I had at this hotel a week earlier was nice and fresh. Lots and lots of stairs with no elevator was a challenge but the nice staff always got bags up and down the stairs.

I was put in a basement room with no windows to the outside. I was informed that was my room assignment only the day before--an egregious bait and switch. The room was accessible only by stairs, no elevator. The lobby, halls and room were all shabby and substandard. I cancelled the second day of my reservation and asked for a refund for that day. I was told I could only get that through Booking.com because I had booked the room through them. I expect to receive that refund. I strongly recommend that Booking.com drop this hotel. It is the worst I have ever stayed in.

Really appreciated the hotel. Clean and quiet, not many rooms so there wasn't much foot traffic. Starbucks is directly around the corner along with a some eating spots.
The location was a little hard for me to find, however, it was convenient to the event location I had to go to.

The Windsor Inn is a lovely boutique hotel in a great locationโฆclose to major sites. But, you should know the rooms are small so if you are thinking about spending a long periods in your room this is not the place for you.
Extra pluses: main desk staffed 24/7 and good hot coffee in the morning.
For my purposes, visiting relatives and sightseeing there is nothing I didnโt like.
