Perfect location, perfect staff (still wondering how you get to have all those amazing nice and kind people in the same team!), super clean and great breakfast. Worth mentioning I had the best hot shower here during my trip in Egypt - something not to get for granted!
It gets full very easily (which is great for them, but less for those who want to extend their stay!), so make sure you book in advance all the nights you need in Cairo!

I felt most welcome when we checked in. I was a little worried at first when I landed in Cairo, but the staff was so friendly and showed us around the hostel, even recommending some delicious lunch options. It feels like home here, and I will definitely consider coming back. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was another plus point.
Maybe just the safety of the old school lift, but thatโs not under the responsible of the hostel so canโt do much about it. A great experience though

The location was really great: in the heart of downtown. The private room with balcony was very nice. The staff at the hostel were very friendly and helpful. The price for what we got was a good deal.
The bed was pretty uncomfortable, woke up most mornings either not getting much sleep or very sore.

We had the "suite" with kitchenette which was larger than other rooms and private; English-speaking staff was very friendly and helpful; provided a space heater (though it was supposed to be in the room & we had to ask for it); provided bottled water (only for suite); abundant hot breakfast; good downtown location; great view of the city from our bed; staff can arrange well-priced tours/drivers to nearby attractions
bed is in a loft (climb small ladder) which could be difficult for some people, also there is no space between the bed and the walls/window, so no place for clock, phone, book, etc; no shower curtain, so the bathroom floor gets wet when you shower; the hostel is on the 10th floor of a rather run-down residential building with a dilapidated elevator that some guests might find off-putting; also a cat roams around the hostel hallway and breakfast area which could be a problem for those with allergies; very noisy (city noises)--bring earplugs; internet rather slow

Top floor (10th) lift is typical but obviously some people have complained as there are notices... you just have to ensure you close the door properly.
Room is spacious - i had 2x windows with views of the street but it was nice.
Breakfast was delicious ?
Wifi is the BEST in Egypt ?? and that is NOT an exaggeration.
Staff super friendly and VERY helpful.

You basically pay for a driver (BUT they are safe and reliable and take you on the route you desire) BUT i have highlighted although the Hostel advises that you pay entry fee it doesn't state it is CARD ONLY. useful info for other guests. The bent/ red pyramids deffo worth it ยฃ200

We absolutely loved our stay at Madina. The room was lovely and the staff kind and attentive. The entrance and lift to the hostel are not very nice - but there isnโt a lot the hostel can do about this. Weโd happily stay here again.

Loved my stay at Madina Hostel! The location is great and close to a metro. All the staff were super friendly, answering any questions I had, from food recommendations to places to visit or even which app to use when uber was too busy. Also, enjoyed the freshly prepared Egyptian breakfast in the morning. Highly recommend it to everyone but especially for solo travellers!

The hostel is located on the 10th floor of the building and the elevator in the building was very scary. It was very old and you went up with creaking and scraping sounds. That's why when we first entered the building we didn't dare to use the elevator and had to climb 10 floors with our luggages. Inside of the building also was very old and neglected, unfortunately we didnโt feel safe.
On the other hand, our room was clean and enough. There was a cute balcony in the room but it was connected with other room, seperated by some flower pots. It feels like a security breach. A/C and hairdryer didnโt work. If we had asked maybe they could fix it. Hostel staff was very friendly and helpful. Apart from the location of the hostel and the kindness of the staff, we think we did not get the full value for the money we paid.

Great staff, very helpful. The hostel was comfortable and nicely arranged. Breakfast was also quite nice.
The shower was a bit old. I would recommend the hostel staff to say the tours don't include a guide before booking one. I understand a guided viewing under the term "tour", but their tours included only an English speaking driver, which was a little disappointing since they didn't know much about the sights where we went.

Even before we arrived, the team at Madina made us feel very welcome and gave us great advice for exploring Cairo. They went above and beyond to help us with our questions, and to make us feel comfortable. The bedroom was well equipped and clean. The traditional Egyptian breakfast was really special. And you cannot beat the location. This is a really special place.

This is the best hostel I've ever experienced. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, the price is fair, the free breakfast is great, rooms are clean & quiet and there are curtains in the shared dorms which help with privacy and blocking out the light. I was hesitant to write a review cos I don't want it to be booked out next time I come back!

As a solo female, I felt completely safe at this hostel. I stayed in a 5-person female-only dorm. Bathroom and room was very clean. Facilities are modern. Appreciated the complimentary breakfast and laundry service. Receptionist was very attentive and even made sure late night noise did not disrupt my rest.
This did not impact me but do want to note that in the 5-person dorm, one person has a slightly bigger bed but it is a single and there are no curtains around it. Everyone else is on a bunk with curtains. One of the lights in the room is directly overhead the single bed. Also, some people may not be comfortable with the exterior of the building or the elevator but this did not bother me.

We stayed at Madina for 3 nights and then came back after a week. The staff are super warm and helpful and it felt like coming home : ). Fantastic location in the heart of the city and the studio is like a little nest perched on the top. Would definitely stay again if I am in Cairo.

The staff was super helpful and easygoing. The beds were comfy and breakfast was deliscious. Easy to meet other beautiful souls. A perfect place to land in Cairo and feel at home. I be back for sure.
The elevator gets stuck few times a day. Travel light and it won't be a problem.

I heard ppl said this is the best hostel in Cairo.
Price to value are good
We reported the door could not open issue in the morning, not get fixed during the day.
End we stay in another room for one night until someone fix it close to moon time.

There was nothing I particularly liked about this property.
The facilities were extremely poor and not as described. The staff had a very bad attitude and were unprofessional. They even hid or withheld guestsโ luggage without permission, which is completely unacceptable. There was often no hot water, and the water supply was sometimes cut off entirely. Overall, the stay felt unsafe and very uncomfortable.

The location is excellent โ right in the heart of Cairo, with easy access to transportation, restaurants, and many of the cityโs main attractions.
My room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was kept very clean, which made a big difference during my stay.
They served a simple tasty breakfast. It was fresh and enough to start the day, and I enjoyed it.
What truly sets Madina Hostel apart is the staff. They are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. Their kindness and genuine hospitality made me feel at home from the very first day.
Madina Hostel offers much more than just accommodation โ it offers a warm and memorable experience. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cairo, and I would happily stay here again.

Small modern well located hostel near Tahrir, clean and tidy, although you have too share toilet and bathroom with others but they has total 3 on different floors. Fully equipped kitchen and free breakfast. Definitely recommended for traveler on budget.
Only down side is the slow wifi but that seems the common issue for the whole country.

Very clean and in a great location.
Nice views from the higher floors.
Comfortable common area to relax in.

The hot water supply was very inconsistent!
The bathroom had a noticeable drain smell.
You can hear the traffic and street noise from the room.
The card machine was broken when I tried to pay, so I was forced to use cash.

It's on the 10th floor, which provides a great view of the city, but the elevator is a single lift, not the best I've seen.

The hostel is located in downtown which is near to shopping stores and restaurants. The hostel itself was clean. The receptionist was nice and approachable.
One thing to consider is, the hostel is located at 10th floor. And on my third day, the elevator is not working and im about to check out. I had to carry my heavy luggage from 10th to ground and there is no one available to help. Although itโs not the hostelโs fault for the problem with the elevator, but it is something to consider especially if you have heavy luggage and old people with you because you will be left no choice but to use the stairs. This situation could have been better if they have assigned people to help especially if they know that their elevatorโs not working
