Although it felt like it was right out of the way to begin with, (up quite a steep hill), in fact it was round the corner from some great bars and just 5 mins walk from all the restaurants in the centre of the Old Town. Trieste is a great place to explore on foot and we really liked the area and it was easy to get to the usual tourist spots, too.

It was quite expensive for the size of the room - 256 euros for 2 nights - but it was the weekend, and Trieste is a great city not to be missed.

Feedback on number 4 "Studio Dependance" in Via dei Cavazzeni 5: Close to the old town with its nightlife and energy, yet tucked away in a side street and away from the noise. Spacious bedroom with kitchenette. Fridge and washing machine on site.

The property as presented on Booking.com is located at Piazza S. Silvestro 4, and it has all the bells and whistles of prime accommodation in historic Trieste: it is opposite some historic ruins of Riccardo's Arch, in a quiet little square behind the temples of St. Silvestro and Sta. Maria Maggiore, on a hill with pleasant views. The building itself is "historical" and the rooms are stylishly furnished so it's easy to get hooked and quickly hit "book now" on what's available.The problem is that, in addition to the rooms in the main building, they offer accommodation called "Studio Dependance" in a secondary building at another address, Via dei Cavazzeni 5, 210 m away (no mention of a secondary location in their main presentation and during the booking process). So, you book a hotel room thinking it is in the main building and get a cheaply furnished apartment in another building. When you get the confirmation from Booking.com, of course you don't notice the different location, so you are up for a surprise when you go to check in at the Hotel All'Arco.IMO this is cheap scamming, very poor hospitality ethics and a violation of consumer rights.Feedback on number 4 "Studio Dependance" in Via dei Cavazzeni 5:In short, the price of 130 euros per night is a rip-off.The apartment is furnished with the cheapest, bland furniture possible, in stark contrast to the old building.The air conditioning is so loud that you can't use it at night.The place shows signs of having been used before, carelessly, and not well maintained (bathroom door does not close due to a broken lock, stains in the corners of the shower cubicle, crockery and cutlery provided not too clean).The lift can only take one person, and there's no room for anything larger than a medium-sized piece of luggage.The view is of the wall of the building 2 metres away across the narrow street.

The hotel was a few minutes away from the centre and is not far from bars, cafes and restaurants, though the hotel is in a quiet location.The room was cosy, clean and comfortable and had a good shower in the bathroom.
