The room I was given was in the 5th floor and there's no lift. It was difficult to access the room not only because of the long stairs, but was at the very end of the hotel, almost as in a side building.

The bathroom was clean but smelled really bad, from old pipes I think. it made the stay very uncomfortable as I was stuggling to use the bathroom and the smell was in the room too. I had to open the window, but the street was very noisy until late. The room is very basic, without anything to give it a bit of character.

bathroom is a joke... absolutely tiny... the so called bath is tiny but also dangerous, you would need to be a hurdler to get in and particularly out of it.. very dangerous when you're feet are wet,really poor... there is no lift to the 5th floor from the lobby,you have to go up to the second floor and get the service lift to take you the rest of the way..so bear that in mind when you have cases and the lift is filthy... it's definitely better than nothing... the carpet on the main stairs needs to be binned, it's filthy... overall the whole place needs a massive makeover

The location was awesome! Very close to the water, easy walk anywhere. The staff was so friendly and we were able to store our luggage.
The bed was pretty hard, and although it did smell clean there were random hairs in the bathroom maybe just that were missed. They advertise as a 2 star and I would agree, with what you pay compared to other places in the area I can’t complain to much!

It's in a great location: Mercado do Bolhão and Capela das Almas were just across the street, Avenida dos Aliados, Torre dos Clérigos, and Rua de Santa Catarina are a short walk away.
The subway and bus are just a few meters away, and there are supermarkets and plenty of stores nearby.
A very nice view to the street, and the seagulls stopped by very close to the window.
We were in the fourth floor and there was no elevator. The staff told us we could have asked for a different room while booking if the stairs were a problem, though.
There was a mini-fridge in the room!
In my room, there was no Wi-Fi access (only in the corridor).
The bed mattress and pillows were too soft/wobbly for my personal taste.
In the shower box, the water was pooling up as it wasn't draining well, and the bathroom mirror wasn't clean when we arrived.
The air conditioning was broken, not only figuratively, but there was literally a big crack on it.

My partner and I booked 3 nights, we stayed only one because was impossible to stay in a room with a strong smell of cleaning product, since I have asthma and allergies. Toilet was not the best cleanliness and noisy bed. I have shortness of breath because of that, in the next day in the morning in the common areas the smell was even worse, like bleach. I told the staff I was leaving, and he told me he was sorry but also that it is a 2 star hotel. It is indeed but not even Hostels that I stayed before were so bad like that place. So far, no refund of the money I paid. No empathy, and terrible conditions. Plus the staff suggested maybe as a refund a voucher for someone else to stay there, how can I give it to someone as a gift since I don't think anyone deserves a place like that?

Excellent location, made it very easy to explore Porto by feet or by metro which is just a few steps away. The employees at reception were very friendly and provided hairdryer when asked.
Their photos don’t match what they sell, the rooms are much smaller than they appear. The hotel has a lift from the 2nd to 5th floor but it is extremely slow. Bathroom and lift lack cleaning.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel in Porto! Actually, I booked one of their apartments, which is located 50 m away from the hotel. The location is absolutely perfect—situated right on Rua Santa Catarina, one of the most vibrant and sought-after streets in the city. It’s surrounded by great restaurants, shopping centers, and local attractions, making it an ideal spot for both tourists and business travelers.
A huge plus is the Bolhão Metro Station right at the doorstep, providing easy and quick access to the airport and other parts of Porto. Additionally, it’s just a 10-minute walk to Avenida dos Aliados and Praça da Liberdade, the heart of Porto’s historic center.
The convenience, comfort, and accessibility of this hotel make it a top choice for anyone visiting Porto. Highly recommend!
The only thing I would point out - which is not a bad thing but should be improved- is the lack of kitchen utensils, such as pots and pans and stuff like that, There was only one small pan available, so if you are traveling with kids and wish to cook your breakfast, check what is available first.

The room was small but adequate. It was clean and I get that Portuguese hotels don't seem to have kettles - but I wish they did!.
The bed and shower were fine and that's really all that matters. The worst aspect of the room was the smell of drains in the bathroom. However my sister was staying nearby and said her accommodation smelt of drains.

All the noise from the street could be clearly heard in the room. The municipal trash bins were located right in front of our window, and the sound of the garbage truck was disturbing. If the window was open, the smell of the trash and insects became a real issue. The bathroom was extremely small—more like a symbolic addition than a functional one, and using it was quite difficult. Communicating with the staff was difficult, and most of them were disrespectful. Except for one person, the others didn’t really listen to us.
