The hotel did not get any improvements from the 1980's. Everything was old and the only elevator they had was not always working. The breakfast was just about decent but not great.

Tall brutalist building, so you can notice and find it easily from long distance. 13th floor restaurant and room view is impressive. Interior is like time machine - welcome to early 70s! You feel like in some old movie. Vintage wooden interior is dark, corridors tight and whole atmosphere a bit frightening.
There are various in-room amenities that look like they've been the same since the hotel's beginning in 1969, such as a hairdryer, a radio cabinet, luminaries, a bench for suitcases, etc., all of which used to be very modern and chic features. And it is amazing that some of them are still in use today!
The dilapidated, aluminium and mirror-feeling lift with its worn buttons is a striking detail of this time machine (when you call it up, you have to guess for a long time whether it works or not, but eventually the doors open). The telephone room next to the lift on the restaurant floor is also an amazing and must-see feature, with its green leather door, a light switch in the floor and the possibility of talking on an old telephone in private. It looks like a secret agent is about to walk into the restaurant and sit at your table...
The long-worn decorations and plastic flower compositions also make the place sadly nostalgic. I think this place should already be advertised as a kind of museum with an authentic atmosphere, rather than as a usual hotel.

Not very comfortable, but exceptional and authentic experience that I would recommend.
It was not easy to find the entrance. It was strong noise from upper levels, seems like someone was moving furniture and had intense kitchen work (or hard sex?:) late in the night and early in the morning. Some other scratching noises were mysterious as well.

My stay at this hotel was a disappointing experience. The location is inconvenient, situated on a steep street far from Porto's center, which makes getting around difficult. The surrounding area is dirty, adding to the poor impression upon arrival.
The hotel and the room are outdated, with decor that seems untouched since the 1950s. The carpets were dirty, with visible dust and trash in the corners, suggesting a lack of proper cleaning. I found hairs in the bathtub and the basin. The water pressure in the bathroom was also so low. Noise isolation is non-existent—you can hear everything from the neighboring rooms, including intimate noises, which made for an uncomfortable stay. Breakfast was included in the reservation, but it was basic and uninspiring.
Given the state of the building, I genuinely believe it should be evacuated and torn down. The hotel’s condition is so poor that even significant renovations wouldn’t be enough to bring it up to an acceptable standard. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The hotel staff is friendly
The hotel is severely outdated and poorly maintained, creating a disappointing experience from start to finish. Upon entering, guests are met with a deteriorating ambiance that feels stuck in the 1960s. Rooms are uncomfortable, with old, stained carpets, broken furniture, and unpleasant odors. The bathrooms and toilets are a disaster—cramped, unhygienic, and riddled with issues such as mold, faulty plumbing, and minimal space to move around. The outdated design and poor maintenance make them uncomfortable and impractical to use. Cleanliness throughout the hotel is noticeably substandard.
Basic amenities are unreliable or completely lacking. Hot water takes ages to heat, heating systems are ineffective, and lighting is inadequate. The elevator is outdated and unsafe, making it a challenge for guests, especially those staying on higher floors.
Noise from outside is a major issue, with loud disturbances from street activity persisting until the early hours. The poor soundproofing exacerbates the problem, making restful sleep impossible.
The breakfast adds to the disappointment, offering a limited selection of poor-quality items that fail to meet even basic expectations.
Overall, this hotel is overpriced for the subpar experience it provides. Its outdated facilities, lack of comfort, and persistent noise make it highly unsuitable for guests. Avoid at all costs.

The hotel is much cheaper than most in Porto. It is some way from the centre of the city and it's a long uphill walk from the centre. The room was comfortable but the decor looked like it hasn't changed since the 1970s. Haven't seen such a small CRT TV for a long time. On the 13th floor there is an upmarket and quite expensive restaurant, Portucale where I had an excellent but expensive dinner. Again the decor dates from the 1970s. The restaurant and my room had great views over the city. Breakfast was served in the same restaurant and was OK apart from the coffee. The WiFi was OK
Not many electrical sockets. I was woken about 4am by loud music being played. The fridge/minibar was locked. The small lift was slow, creaked and shuddered, not good if you are claustrophobic or have a nervous disposition. The coffee at breakfast was horrible.

I absolutely loved the vintage vibe the hotel went for. It was also very clean, and the views from every corner were spectacular. Furthermore, the price was very good and the lady at the reception who checked me in was so kind. It made me feel very welcome!
Unfortunately, the walk from the hotel was a bit too far from the touristic area, plus there appeared to be a big nightclub across the hotel, which banged loud music till 6 in the morning ... So, my sleep here was terrible! The room was also very cold and there was no heater system. Then, some of the staff members at the reception were unkind, not even greeting or smiling. Finally, the breakfast was quite poor with very little option so I remained hungry. Therefore, although a fairly nice hotel, I wouldn't return.

The hotel has an antic style which is our favorite. We enjoyed being in this style and also the room had an amazing view to the city. The location was great and It was easy to access to the city center by walk.
The toilets were not very clean and sometimes it smelled bad. Although the antic style is very astonishing, the rooms need a renovation for some infrastructures and the walls. The breakfast was poor and for additional stuff they may charge you with additional fees.

Location in the city center, one of the highest buildings in the city, so panoramic views at the restaurant and some rooms are adorable. Affordable price with breakfast included. Actually you will live in a 4* hotel of the 60's. It's a time capsule. We loved the experience.

The room was gingy with crummy old furniture. The bathroom was so tiny you practically hit yourself on the sink trying to sit on the toilet. The hair dryer was from the stone ages although it did function. However, the longer it was held the hotter it got.
I don't know where they got the photos for this hotel but they must have photoshopped them because that's what caused me to book the reservation. The room looked really spectacular but it turned out to be microscopic.
We traveled with two other couples, and one of them had a lovely big bathroom that I was very envious of. We all paid the same price but there was quite a difference in the quality of the bedroom and bathroom.

Location and free car parking.
Room was old, bathroom was poorly designed, toilet was lose, shower head has almost no pressure and was hard to control the water temperature, no air conditioninig, breakfast was rather plain, coffee was not good at all.

My favorite hotel in Porto, located in one of the city's tallest buildings. The price per night is affordable. A beautiful, large room with a private bathroom, stunning views of the city, and delicious breakfast served on the top floor. You can enjoy your morning coffee while listening to smooth jazz music and admiring the incredible city panorama. Great!! Highly recommend it!!

A nice spot with lovely panorama and retro decor. It was like travelling in a time.
Even if it is retro, the things are not in their best condition. They should repair some stuff and give a better breakfast, which was really really poor.

view even better with window full length of room. Quality of food very good for the price, staff serving breakfast and cleaners always pleasant. Room excellent bed comfortable, room spacious, good TV, bathroom easy to use good drying facility if wash few clothes.
Reception staff just did the minimum, pleasant enough but felt they could have made more effort to for instance recommend places to visit, and engage with us

Where to start…
1. Elevator barely worked (sometimes only did go up and not down)
2. Restaurant’s carpet was dirty (it was clear that it had not been vacuumed or swept)
3. Rooms super old, they only have side-beds lamps but not a proper light.
