Great location. Nearby is lots of restaurants and bars. Also are many other shops for all your needs and a night market.
The bed is hard and the bathroom is old and bath is chipped. The bath has mould stains and a discolored toilet and the floor rug is covered in stains.

I did not remember when I did the booking, but I was pleasantly surprised that my room came with a bathtub! (There has been a recent trend in new developed hotels that room with bathtub usually are considered premium and priced higher compared to room without one.)
I asked the front desk to arrange for a cab ride from the hotel to the airport early in the morning prior to my departure the next day. When I came down at 3AM in the next morning at the lobby, the person at the desk (not the same person), was baffled by me being there waiting for the cab. However, she managed to book a cab for me to the airport; the cab arrived at the hotel approx. 3.30AM ?

I liked the price. The location was also good. I liked the vending machine in the lobby. The pool area was pretty, but I don't like to swim to didn't use the pool.
I didn't like the tub. It was deep but very narrow. I didn't like the tiny elevator. I didn't like that the restaurant was in the sister hotel next door.

The rose hotel is a hidden jewel directly behind le meridien Bangkok. It is two blocks walking from a hospital. It is located behind all the tall buildings around it so the location is blissfully quiet in the city center. If you can overlook the proximity to pat pong in the night market it is a superior place to stay for all matter of wholesome activities. The restaurant in a traditional wooden tie house is wonderful.
Lack of cleanliness on the streets surrounding the hotel. The hotel itself was ideally kept. The restaurant is wonderful.

The property is in a fantastic location and hidden off a quiet street. I loved the two wise ladies on the front desk, they were really kind and informative. The pool in the back area is a hidden gem. The price is great and it is quiet.

We booked a room just for the day as we had a late flight and the Rose Residence, where we'd originally stayed was full so couldn't have a late checkout. It was £30. The hotel isn't luxury and quite basic but for the price it's bloody brilliant. Clean and well run. The pool area is gorgeous with all the greenery and the restaurant Ruen Urai is excellent.

Room smelt like cigarette smoke. The room felt very dirty coming in. The bed was more like a cot vs a bed. If the cost of this place was more like $5.00 a night; it would be worth it, but no one should pay over $10.00 to stay here. I’ve stayed in better hostels than this.

Love the pool area, and the hotel's proximity to public transportation, convenience stores, night market, etc.
My room had a locked door to the neighboring room and unfortunately you hear everything that's going on in there. Not sure if this connection door exists in every room but it did bother me a bit and my room felt less private than it could have

Next to nothing
As a seasoned traveller, I have never felt so uneasy in a hotel. Extremely dilapidated, common areas were very sterile and institutional looking, room had a weird smell. I couldn’t bear to stay a single night and left immediately. The surrounding area and access to the hotel is also sketchy and feels unsafe as a solo female traveller. Would suggest doing homework before booking

Very friendly staff. Everything very smooth. In a very quiet Soi in a busy part of the city. Go out of the hotel and turn left into the Soi and you are in a very different Bangkok. There is a beautiful Wat hidden away there too. Recommended. Thank you.

It was a nice confortable hotel.
The pool was nice, the rooms are spacious and the staff was kind. They have an option to check out super late that is amazing! For 600 bahts I could check out at 7PM! Which was the best service ever, when your flight is late at night! They can also hold your bags at the reception until you’re ready to leave but I preferred keeping the room.
The path leading to the pool smelled bad. However I reckon if you exit the hotel and enter from the side of The Rose Residence; it’s ok (except you might not want to do that in your swimming pool attire).

The location is great. Close to the nightlife of Silom but also an MRT station and Lumphini park. I also love the pool.
The hotel still doesn’t offer breakfast within the booking price. They should lower the price or include breakfast. The Rose hotel next door does, but you have to pay for it. Coffee though was for free when I asked one morning.

Great location, older rooms,but good size, comfortable and well maintained. The staff are great and the pool is a standout. There are newer, fancier places around, but The Rose has a charm that keeps bringing me back.
Not much. At this price point you shouldn’t be too nit picky. The bathroom fittings are quite old and could do with updating, but they all work, the cold water is cold, the hot water is hot and all the water stays in the bathroom.

The women at reception helped me when I arrived in Bangkok with some recommendations, and helped me received my delayed luggage.
The hotel is a bit outdated but it served it's purpose of good location, convenient price, and using the room as a touch base for exploring Bangkok
There were some hairs in the bathtub that the cleaning service should have noticed. The Hotel is a bit outdated.

Location is also fantastic across the road from the pat pong night market and amazing restaurants near by. Although there’s also a lovely restaurant onsite.

Beautiful lobby area, strong AC , strong shower, clean room, comfortable beds, free water daily, can pay for half room rate if your flight is later and extend to 6pm checkout. Bit dated hotel in terms of hallways, lifts, room furniture and bathroom but good for the price and cheap. If they upgraded and looked more modern, would be more expensive, so not complaining.
7/11 near. Patpong night market near, loads of food but not halal, so not suitable for Muslim travellers. Patpong is a red light district mixed with regular food stalls and gift stalls where you can find clothes, etc. Perhaps not ideal for family because of the red light district but you can avoid Patpong all together if you prefer.

The pool and the food
The rooms were too old, smelly, not clean at all, hot water did not really worked properly.
A lot of cat poop outside all over the pool, I asked the employees to clean they did not even care

The Rose Hotel is an aging monument to an earlier era of Thai tourism, when it would have been a relatively upscale option for backpackers, or a cost-effective choice for businesspeople not on an expense account. It has some enjoyable, characterful touches redolent of those bygone times. The pool and the adjacent restaurant in a traditional Thai house are both beautiful and feel like slightly dilapidated touches of luxury. The pool water stays cold all day now because it is in the shadow of the huge hotel tower next door, so even in late afternoon it is a brisk, refreshing pool to jump into, and the jacuzzi jets are a nice touch. Reason enough to choose this very cost-effective hotel. Plus the bed was very comfortable, and the location is excellent.
The rooms really need an update. They are spacious and basically comfortable, but don't have enough electrical outlets for today's device-heavy travelers, and in our room a couple of the outlets that did exist, didn't work. I ended up having to unplug the TV in order to charge my phone. The floor was a battered and chipped linoleum/tile combo. To their credit, everything was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the AC worked well and was not loud. So despite the drawbacks, this hotel is excellent value for money, and I would happily stay there again.

The best location, very close to samyan mrt and chulalongorn university.
Even it is old hotel but well maintenance. Elevator available . Room size good. Bathtub. Worth it.
