I also didn’t realize that the balcony suite did not have a good view. I was basically looking at the back of a building. If I knew that I would not have paid for a balcony suite.

The hotel itself is nice, but very dark. The hallways were nearly pitch black and the rooms could use a lamp or 5. The rooms themselves were nice, comfy beds, bathroom could use some hooks to hang wet towels and shelves for toiletries but otherwise nice.
There’s no “social club” aspect. I must have been the restaurant/bar under construction when we were there but that meant we lost all the “fun” of the property. No music or food/drink service by the pool save for some snacks I could order… on WhatsApp? The whole thing seemed odd.

Great location! We loved the location of this place, close to ocean drive, south beach and lots of restaurants, cafes, bars & shops. Room had a fridge which was useful for drinks. Staff were friendly & helpful ☺️ Thanks!
We booked a Junior room and it was just too small for us with limited space for things, bigger rooms are available so I would definitely recommend booking one if you’re there for a few days. A kettle would have been welcome (I’m a tea drinker) plus some coffee pods for the coffee machine.

The floors in the room were never broomed so they were very dirty, we didn’t have many towels, the counter space in thw bathroom was too small, lack of shelving, and lack of space in the actual room for our luggage. We could hear when our neighbor got in their room. Pool was small and inflatables were a bit dirty

There was no thought to the placement of furniture in the room. The room is super small with nowhere to place your luggage or toiletries in the washroom. We asked for a luggage stand but the attendant/concierge at the front desk did not know what the was. Told us to come back tomorrow morning. He had just checked us in and confirmed our check out for tomorrow. We stayed 1 night to board our cruise the next day. Property is located at the end of South beach and not centrally located. Besides the bed being comfortable, the room was not.

Requested a car transport to the airport but had to Uber as the early morning desk clerk could find no record of the request. Needs to be a better conformation system in place.

I stayed a few nights at this beautiful property in January 2026 and really enjoyed my experience. The hotel is spotless, with spacious rooms, very comfortable large beds, and balconies. The location is excellent—close to South Beach and surrounded by many great restaurants.
The rooftop pool is well maintained and offers stunning views of the city. I’d like to especially recognize the staff members I interacted with during my stay: Ro (Rocío), Valentina at the reception desk, and Carlos from the valet parking, along with Valentino. They were consistently attentive, extremely friendly, and a true asset to the hotel.
I’m already looking forward to coming back and hopefully trying the restaurant once the refurbishment is complete.
There should be more Smart options on TV like streaming apps

We had a room facing the street, so we could hear the traffic all night, and the curtains didn't keep the room dark. Because of the noise, we didn't fall asleep until 3 a.m. and woke up again at 7 a.m. because of the daylight shining into the room.

I stayed at Upsun Hotel for 3 nights as a solo traveler. The staff is friendly and helpful, location is perfect: close (walking distance) to all the best Miami’s areas. My room was small but modern and comfy, it had everything I needed, I slept very well and was clean. The pool on the rooftop is lovely.
TV doesn’t allow you to connect apps like Netflix.

The beach access makes this worthwhile. If you're looking for a true Miami Beach hotel with a pool party vibe this isn't it. But it was comfortable. Beach walking access and chairs were great.

The staff was great. The room very clean, the bed super comfortable and the location was amazing.
Pretty much everything you wanted or needed was close enough to walk to.
The property looked a lot better online. The picture made this place look very inviting but the registration desk was in a dark alcove and the previous Checkin area was no longer in use and looked odd in the middle of the other lobby that was no longer used for an entrance.
The room felt more like a dorm room with an outdated tv and a fridge that did not get our beverages cold. We used ice which you had to go to the lobby to get and they didn’t have bags for the bucket so they put the ice in the dirty bucket, needless to say we didn’t use it.
The bathroom was very small with not a lot of counter or shelf space. Super small and dangerously laid out little balcony. I peeked out but couldn’t stand on it, scary.

The location is really good, rooftop is perfect for sunny days, staff is nice and helpful and the price for what you get is hard to beat!
Really just minor things, no shelf in the shower and could use some towel hooks in the bathroom, minimal lighting in the room and the blackout curtains were hard to close.
WiFi is stubborn on the top floor.
Sound travels easily and the main lobby areas are quite unfinished.
I would still stay here again, don’t get me wrong!

It is only a 5 minute walk from the beach, shopping and food. The sunset was beautiful from the roof top pool.

My stay at Upsun Hotel with my family was wonderful. We loved it. They allowed us to do an early check-in, and the room was clean, tidy, and very spacious. We also really appreciated being able to control the air conditioning ourselves, especially with Miami’s warm temperatures.
Ro and everyone at the front desk were extremely friendly and always willing to help.
I highly recommend this hotel. The location was excellent, close to the free trolley service and the beach.

The location was good
Advertised as balcony room, but it was that small you could barely stand on it and the door to get to the balcony was so difficult to open. Then when you got out facing a wall. Room was next to lift, so woken up by noise all night. Room was clean, but rest of hotel felt grubby, sane wet towels left at pool deck for whole stay. Nobody on reception when arriving as both took break together. There was a water jug at reception but always empty.
